LNP: IGNORING THE OBVIOUS

This is simply unbelievable. LNP has reporter Dan Nephin’s story on Linda Stoltzfoos as the lead story on the front page of their print edition this morning with the above headline. Once again, the only new information – and it is huge – is buried deep in the story (also see yesterday’s post).
When they found her body, lots of commenters on LNP’s Facebook page said that maybe her alleged killer, Justo Smoker, told the authorities where to find her body, possibly to take the death penalty off the table. Again, from the article (click here):
In the May issue of The Diary, a monthly newspaper for the Amish across the country, Henry Fisher wrote, “So a group of FBI and county agents searched in vain last Wednesday April 21 until they fetched the hand-cuffed prisoner to the property where he showed them where the grave was.
Is this true? Why is this huge – and the only new information in his story – buried in Nephin’s article? Did DA Heather Adams ask LNP to downplay this? Has the death penalty been taken off the table?
This is awful, awful reporting and editing.
Please check back later today.

I met Chief Sadler once and he’s not BLACK ! He’s Hispanic !! Lancaster City use to have a “Take Back the Streets” night and I was part of a bicycle parade that hit different neighborhoods. Folks would takes over their streets and cook food to give away. Firefighters and police would also be out eating and talking. I spoke with Sadler while eat some rice an beans.

Don’t forget: When they found the body, they tried to make it sound like great detective work. And didn’t even mention that it was piss poor detective work to not search there in the first place because of a lack of a cell phone ping!

Ok. So the Amish newspaper broke the story first. But. Do they ask their readers to share their summer time memories?

  5. Tickled pink says:
