It is skunk mating season. Hey, I wouldn’t lie or make this stuff up! It is too smelly!
The photo above was taken recently in Lancaster and there are multiple complaints about the smell (click here for, “Skunk mating season coincides with Valentine’s Day and the drama is nauseating”).
Luckily, it will be over in mid-April so you only have another month-and-a-half of the smell. It could be worse! Imagine if the mayor or Patrick Hopkins or one of the council members came into your neighborhood. That would really, really smell!
Speaking of city council, they met last night and please see “baffled’s” excellent comment about it under this post. Patrick Hopkins has been lying for years! Why isn’t he being held accountable?

City council met last night (click here) and the below article on the former officer is a disgrace (click here). Will LNP call out Judge Thomas Sponaugle?

Please check back later today.

Ex officer Young’s case was drawn out/delayed/postponed for two years and now he gets a slap on the wrist. It’s very disheartening. He is a very fortunate white man. At least he is no longer in a position of power. I’ve lost all trust in local justices.

    Gee wiz Becky

If I posted this cartoon Anonymous would hammer me for “Racial Insensitivity “. Lol!
Poor Earl would be a raicist and bigot.
Ps I love Dr Seuss , I gave my old childhood books to my grandkids!

    Sincerely, Earl

I’ll take mating skunks over the city administration crew any day of the week. And coyotes and reptiles.

I think it would be beneficial to all Lancastrians ro have “baffled” as our mayor!

  5. baffled says:

FIRST LIE. He says that these costs weren’t anticipated because the price of steel and covid both happened in 2020. The BID for this project was opened in September 2019 for $15 million. It was then rebid before covid hit. LIAR.

NEXT LIE. He told Council that the anticipated $11.5 million was “all in” which would be inclusive engineering, architect, demolition, and contingencies. Now he’s claiming he need a few million more for “contingencies” and glosses over the fact that the $14million he’s asking for does not cover architect and other outside costs. The true cost is going to be $15 million LIAR.

Finally. SAVINGS ?! SAVINGS ?! Pushing out debt and paying more in interest through refinancing is not SAVINGS. Borrowing more money then you really need and moving it around 4 times while you pay interest isn’t SAVINGS.

Missing the target by over 30% (again) when you insisted that this project was ” ALL-IN $11.5 million” with the mayor chiming in that amount was ” MORE THAN SUFFICIENT”, and now coming back with a project that is going to be $15 million dollars is unacceptable, negligent, embarrassing, irresponsible and grounds for immediate dismissal.

Only one question from Council. A public infrastructure project that’s 30% over budget. The 30% being financed by murky slush funds of millions laying around in the shadows. “Unanticipated” costs based on conditions that have been in the ground for, literally, over 100 years. No curiosity and no oversight from our elected officials. Baffling.

  6. Earl says:

    Ok, 2 things…..
    1. The cop should have done some time. Even if it was a sentence like 3 to 6 months.

    2. At first glance I figured the $14 million included New Fire Trucks and other New Equipment for the firefighters. Seems like alot for just a building.

What do you guys think ?
