   —  Preparing for tomorrow! I will be voting at my polling place. This should be exciting! Full details will follow.  —
*    I think this is appropriate for today:

David Greiner from the Lancaster Safety Coalition website (click here) and his Letter to the Editor of LNP in today’s print edition (click here for his letter online).
Who is watching David Greiner (click here for “WHO’S WATCHING YOU?” from 2011 on this site). Do you want this racist watching you? So he doesn’t think the Lancaster Police Department should have more diversity?
How does this man keep his job? Seriously. All these cameras and all these unsolved murders! What is going on? He needs to be fired now!

To the subject of your post, Greiner.

His attitude is so wrong for someone who spies on city residents

Instead of radical change let’s take a kinder, gentler approach to this dilemma. The population of Lancaster City (per 2010 census) is 18.3% black, 38.5%hispanic/latino, 3.6% Asian, 59.7% white and a very few others. The NAACP should get to work identifying perspective future black police persons for 18.3% of our police department. SACA should get to work identifying perspective future hispanic/latino police persons for 38.5% of our police department. One of the immigration services can do same for all other non whites. I don’t know who represents white people. It really doesn’t sound that difficult. Our city council president can get this coordinated and organized. Nothing needs to be radical.

A kind gentler approach hasn’t solved this issue. The fact is that the local elites continue to do business with each other, that’s why you see the corruption between the DA, Police, mayors office; businesses like LN P and high steel, etc. Our dying black children don’t have time to wait for gentler change we need it now!!!

    • Anonymous says:

Nobody should be doing ANYTHING off 2010 census numbers. And your kinder, gentler approach went out with the 20-thousand points of light.

Whites need to step aside so others who are SYSTEMATICALLY OPPRESSED by white superiority can have an OPPORTUNITY.

    Radical change we need!!!

There needs to be diversity but never at the expense of forgoing qualifications.

    • Becky says:

I am so tired of the “qulifications” arguement/lies.” Apparently the only ones with the right qualifications for the job is whites who live outside the city.

We did have a black/hispanic police chief for many years that allegedly (I did not witness this) beat his wife. Why was he kept as our police chief ? Maybe because he was diverse? Who knows? What we do know is that he progressed to bigger and perhaps better things in spite of his ex wife’s allegations and all the bashing he got from all of us on this site. Point being, we had diversity at the top and weren’t satisified.

        • Becky says:

That was a “favor” LNP did for Mayor Dick (LNP never once told the public the chief’s ex-wife wrote a book stating he beat her) to thank him for giving them millions of dollars for the con center and LNP’s Marriott Hotel.

You state, ‘who knows’ which means you don’t have any facts you’re just stating questions which is not helpful to the conversation. I don’t expect white people to understand the sufferings of the Black community, unfortunately it seems that many whites because they can’t appreciate it, they just say it doesn’t exist.

          • Anonymous says:

That, and the only qualification is a h.s. equivalency! And there are black and Hispanic people in positions where they could make a difference and do NOTHING for their communities. Clarence Thomas comes to mind as well as the minority police chiefs of Minneapolis and other cities – that includes Keith Sadler, whom blacks consider an Oreo.

          • Becky says:

Please. References to Clarence Thomas are forbidden on this site! 🙂

          Latinos are white.

And if blacks aren’t looking for employment and filling out applications? I was at a job fair, and a black man asked how many blacks we had on payroll. Before I could answer he starts up with predictable race card, racist this, racist that, why wouldn’t we give him a job. I handed him an application, and told him what positions we had available, make sure you list your qualifications and we’ll call you for an interview. That was the last we heard from him.

        • Becky says:

I’d like to believe you about that but I have my doubts with an anonymous commenter. What job fair was this?

          • Becky says:

Years ago, on the old LNP Talkback forum, there was a poster who constantly posted that blacks were getting special treatment because the police and others were afraid they’d be sued. It was absurd and ridiculous and disgusting and an absolute lie.

I’ve never been a fan of Dave Greiner but this letter is spot on.

Please! The guy makes his living as a voyeur paid be taxpayers. Dave Greiner is what those in the legal community seem Constitutionally repugnant. How much do we pay that corrupt idiot?
