UNCONSCIONABLE!

The opinion column claiming that this is a revenue problem, in advance of this announcement, also a coordinated political and public relations ploy.
Tax dollars continuing to be wasted in the name of corruption and power. The only thing that matters is that the Criz money, and other public funds continue to get funneled to the private interests that control the City, the Newspaper, and the political parties.
Part of a comment into this site today.
Exactly. The collusion between LNP and city hall is shocking and unconscionable.
     There will be more tomorrow.

WHERE’S THE MONEY, MAW?

*    The below excellent comment in from huh?. Why don’t you answer these questions, LNP managing editor Tom Murse? Do you really pay close attention to how the people’s business is conducted or did you just put MAW’s money in your own pockets?1-16-19 UPDATE –   Sadly, not every county has a newspaper paying close attention to how the people’s business is conducted.
From an LNP editorial earlier this week, “Bipartisan effort by Congress could help save some local newspapers [opinion],” (click here).
The LNP editorial board, led by Suzanne Cassidy, just lies and lies and lies. When is LNP going to tell the public what the PFM Group found about how the people’s business is conducted?
Please check back later today.

*   Blah, blah, blah! No, that’s not getting posted either. I bet you don’t have the guts to use your real name.

I’ll come back to the city council meetings tomorrow.
— A quick note today – to the person who sent in a long comment about Commissioner Craig Lehman: I know very little about Lehman. You make allegations and call him some nasty names. I’m not going to post it.
If you would like to write an article about him with facts and details, I will certainly consider running it. Thank you for writing.

RUNNING OUT OF MONEY!

Lancaster currently has a $3 million dollar deficit that will rise to $6 million by 2025. Lancaster will run out of a cash balance before 2023. Expenditures are running far ahead of revenue growth. Lancaster has a lack of cash and high debt.
That is part of what the PFM Group Consulting told city council last night.
Please check back later today.

Again , I wish to be anonymous as I can see how this is going . As I said before , Council will pay $125k to find out they are cash strapped . Hmm . That is worthwhile . Next while the City suffers , how does the impact of The National Field Hockey team considering leaving Spooky Nook because the food is bad and fields are not level impact Lancaster too. When anyone travels they go to an event and then visit the downtown area too. Follow the Chamber and see how many times they have tried to save this . Having your picture taken does not mean you work for economic development .

  2. nope says:

The consulting firm simply added up the budget figures and projected them forward. Its work that Hopkins surely already did, and any second year college finance major could have done.

What the $125,000 provided was political cover. So that its the consultant outlining the city’s “distress” and not the Mayor admitting 10 years of fiscal mismanagement. Your tax dollars being used for a re-election campaign.

The opinion column claiming that this is a revenue problem, in advance of this announcement, also a coordinated political and public relations ploy.

Am I the only one confused by the topic of Commissioner Craig Lehman? What on earth is going on here? Becky, can you give us the gist of the issues being reported? I do know when I spoke with Commissioner Lehman about LGBT rights (we did not have Q at that time) he basically blew me off like another fairy that he did not need flying around his office or being seen associating with. But that is just my personal experience.

What is being reported and why is it so bad not to allow posted? It must be juicy and I am intrigued.

Let’s see…an internet service that doesn’t work, a tax giveaway to the convention center, water pollution issues, and the whole CRIZ fiasco: yes, the City of Lancaster manages tax revenue in a unique way. Whatever happened to the Pennsylvania Dutch values of frugality and living within your means?

  5. Benton Harbor says:

Perhaps if the DALE HIGH AND LNP CONVENTION CENTER was paying taxes

  6. Anonymous says:

MAW, bicycle lanes, tax free status’ handed out like candy at Halloween, and $125,000 to pay for a study on how to not waste money. A fine job indeed mayor Dickina.

  7. smh says:

How much has MAW soaked Lancaster for?

    • huh? says:

Funny thing you should mention MAW. Not long ago I took a look at their website. Their last News post and their last Press Release post was March 2019. Both posts were the same thing. That they had filed a suit against PP&L.

No new business. No new anything.

Who brought their name to the city council? Who recommended them? Who vetted them?

The city has given and loaned them tens of thousands of dollars. City running short on cash? The money they tossed into the maw would go a very long way to solve that problem.

  8. Anonymous says:

At what point is the public going to hold city council members accountable for allowing all of these insane budgets with their tax dollars. So Hopkins was hired for what exactly? City council members need to step up. People that can NOT perform their job duties/description need to be let go. Theres no order or supervision when it comes to overseeing spending/budgets, police affairs, sentencing…. I sure hope this new d.a. doesnt take after stedman like sorace did with dick
