LNP Magazine

* From today’s new Sunday News magazine.

That’s ridiculous! Will it come with the eEdition? I’d be lost without this advertising sheet! You think that will sell subscriptions? Who is in charge at that paper?
Join Lancaster General Health trauma surgeon Dr. Chet Morrison and LNP Opinion Editor Suzanne Cassidy at noon Tuesday for a live chat about gun violence in Lancaster County.
You can leave questions for Dr. Morrison here.

Click here to leave your questions and I’ll come back to this tomorrow. Have a lovely Valentine’s Day!

From page A-3 of today’s Sunday News print edition by LNP reporter Dan Nephin under an article titled, “Council to consider a pay raise for next mayor,” (not currently online).

Dan Nephin

    Dan Nephin

This is just unbelievably sloppy! This is pathetic! Where is an editor? Mayor Gray is halfway through his third term, Nephin!
As “proof,” I would suggest you read this story from WGAL from November 5 of 2013: “Lancaster Mayor Rick Gray has won a third term by defeating the ex-mayor he ousted eight years ago,” (click here).
There is no excuse for this degree of laziness and carelessness!
Please check back later today.

  1. huh? says:

Rednek, probably when they closed the doors and turn off the lights.

  2. Rednek says:

I could easily do without all the advertisements in the Sunday paper that I pick up at Turkey Hill. Any chance of that happening any time soon??

  3. huh? says:

BTW, did you notice how the LNP writer used the term “regrams?” Wow, a real hipster showing his deep knowledge of the internet. Regrams is a rather obscure term for resending instagram pics etc.

I’m impressed. Not. Never. Ever. Hashtag: Not impressed.

    • Becky says:

🙂 Not impressed either! LNP says on all their job openings that they are a “digital first” media operation. So they are putting out some glossy, new printed magazine? Why?

  4. huh? says:

Let’s face it, there will be more of an outcry from subscribers if their Sunday edition doesn’t have the coupon flyers in it. The kind of folks who don’t realize they can load coupons onto their supermarket loyalty card that they swipe through the machine on Senior Citizen Discount Day at Giant.

My favorite Lancaster Newspapers error ever? It happened back around 1970ish. It was an article about making crafts. The instructions started like this: “Take a pair of men’s cocks.” Our neighbor was, I believe, a proof reader for the newspaper and boy oh boy did she get a ribbing from the neighbors.

  5. Frank Lee says:

But there is an excuse Becky. It’s; LNP-Always LNP

    • Becky says:

Frank, this is beyond absurd and probably why I can’t find the article online! They can correct the online version if they put it up but they cannot correct the print edition!
