ACTING ON A “TIP?”
A Letter to the Editor in today’s print edition. Click here for the article, “78-year-old inmate appeals life sentence — 35 years after killings of Swarr siblings.”
I remember this case. It was terrible police work. Have the police in Lancaster improved at all since those awful deaths?
Please check back later today.
No
After 10 years….that’s about how long it takes for LNP to act too!!
(Unless, of course, there is a a profit to be made at the expense of everyone else.)
Yep. The Lancaster Newspapers have always praised Detective Joseph Geesey for getting the very questionable convictions of these men!
Ten years after robbers let Horace and Mary Amanda Swarr starve to death in their city home in 1979, Geesey helped earn the conviction of four Maryland men for the crime.
Of course, there are multiple murder cases on which he was the lead detective that he never solved. And then there was the unsolved attempted lynching of Robert Henderson and also the attempted murder of 83-year-old Daniel Rhoads four months later…
