INVESTIGATE NOW,
MAYOR GRAY &

THANK YOU, LT. WEAVER!

Mayor Gray, you need to immediately open an investigation into the Lancaster Police Department to determine if they were following police procedures for a pursuit in the city.
There are numerous witnesses who state the police were pursuing the suspect’s truck at a very high rate of speed when it crashed into 126 N. Ann Street making the house uninhabitable and in need of massive repairs.
Luckily, no one was injured, either in the house or on the street – but this reckless pursuit by the Lancaster Police could have resulted in an even worse catastrophe.  The public needs and deserves answers and we expect them!
******************************************
East Lampeter Police Lt. Robin Weaver said this afternoon by phone that his department has the video from the WalMart of the two men suspected of stealing two TV’s and then ramming their truck into a house on North Ann Street in Lancaster.
He said the video has not been released because they are confident they can identify the men and make an arrest.  He said, “We have the video and we have the truck.  The truck has not been reported as stolen.”
He said he does not know if the Lancaster police were in pursuit when the truck crashed.  He did say they left the WalMart so quickly that one of the TV’s was thrown from the bed of the truck and they were last seen traveling at a high rate of speed west towards Lancaster.
Asked about injuries the men may have suffered in the crash, he said if there is blood in the truck that should “lock it up.”  He said the truck is currently in the hands of the Lancaster Police Department.  He also said he feels absolutely confident an arrest should be made shortly.
LIP News has a statement from a witness stating that there was visible blood in the truck.
Please see immediately below for the breaking news as this story unfolded today and the press release from the East Lampeter Police and there will be much more tomorrow.

***I just spoke to Lt. Robin Weaver of the East Lampeter Township Police and he sent this press release and told me a great deal more which will follow shortly:

ELTPD received information that a retail theft of televisions had occurred at Walmart.   It was reported that a White male and a dark skinned male each placed 50 inch Sanyo flatscreen telvisions, valued at $996.00 each, into shopping carts and ran towards the exit.   The suspects loaded the televisions into the bed of a silver GMC Sierra pickup truck and exited the parking lot at a high rate of speed.    As the truck was exiting the lot one of the TV’s fell out of the truck onto the roadway.   It was later discovered that the suspect vehicle had crashed into a residence in the 100 blk of N. Ann St.    The second television was still in the bed of the vehicle and was recovered.   The suspects were not located.   Investigation continues.

** A high speed police chase through Lancaster over a stolen TV has caused this house at 126 N. Ann Street to be declared unsafe.  Where are the descriptions, Lancaster Police?  Where is the video from the Walmart store?

* The house at 126 N. Ann Street has been condemned!  Click here for video of the crash and stolen 50″ TV.  Witnesses report two white men jumped out of the truck.  There is no further description at this time.  Above photos courtesy of “Must See Pics an Vids” Facebook page.

HOUSE DAMAGED
BECAUSE OF STOLEN TV!

Crash over TV

Witnesses say that the crash was a result of a police chase, that the truck was traveling down a one way street and that two people fled the scene of the crash.

The Lancaster Newspapers do not mention these men were being chased by the police for a stolen TV from Walmart (click here).

  1. huh? says:

Every photo I’ve seen online has the license plate blurred out and yet there are tons of photos of cars with license plates that are easily discernible.

  2. my goodness says:

Assuming they drove west on E King, north on N Marshall, then west on E Marion there should be video on 5 coalition cameras, plus Walmarts, plus private citizens along the way.

  3. huh? says:

Another ‘rip and write’ article from the LNP.

Who – Driving a stolen truck? Truck registered to?
What – What did the two men look like. Description?
Where – Down Marion Street (they got that one right)
When – in the evening (they got that one right)
Why – Why were they chasing them? WalMart is not exactly next door to Ann Street.
How – how did they get word about the stolen TV?
How many – how many cameras at WalMart caught their ‘getaway.’
How much – How much must a stolen item be worth to endanger people living and walking about on a very narrow Marion Street?

Simple questions that could be asked. And if the police refuse to answer then the reporter should take it upon themselves to investigate further. If they were there at the scene (hah, I just choked on that one) they saw the license plate and the truck.

Incidentally a pickup truck plowed into a house in Mt. Joy over the weekend. Let’s see which driver gets arrested first.

  4. my goodness says:

Coalition camera at corner of E Orange and N Ann. Where is this video? Insanity.
