AS usual when there was hardcore concrete evidence, the cameras tell the police something they already knew. Let’s see: The woman’s trunk popped open when the cops were approaching. The garage in which she claimed to abducted required a key pass to enter and she did not use her pass that morning. However, if not for the false sense of safety coalition cameras, which seem to do a obvious better job of spying on people in their vehicles than solve crime, this case could not have been solved. Just like the less than 1% of the time they contribute in solving a violent crime, there was always a witness. Example: The man who burglarized a home on Orange Street a week ago, the owner walked in on the act and recognized the man because he was in the home previously with a friend of the owner. The cameras spot this individual whom the police already knew his identity, riding his bike from the scene and arrest him at his home days later. HOOORAAYYY cameras.

You would flip your lid. Two men ran when they got there. Doesn’t the interest of public safety make the police err on the side of caution? I can imagine the responding officers second guessing themselves about seeing the trunk when two men run when they arrive.

Larry spends a LOT of time as a civil war re-enacter, a LOT of time writing books about WWII, and a LOT of time dreaming up those ridiculous ‘humnor’ columns for the Saturday edition. Do you REALLY expect him to have anytime available for actual news reporting? Have you forgotten that the Lancaster Police Department has a high ranking PR guy to tell us everything we could possibly need to know? One e-mail from the PR guy, and Larry’s work is done!!!!!! BTW…how old is that picture of Larry?…he’s still stuck in the 60′s; along with the rest of LNP management.
