UPDATED 11-3-19

DET. NICKEL, JULY 2018

EXCESSIVE FORCE
& SEXUAL ASSAULT

The full lawsuit against the City of Lancaster and Detective Nathan Nickel is below. It was confirmed to me late yesterday that the “Nichols” used in the lawsuit is incorrect and will be corrected to reflect Detective Nathan Nickel (also see yesterday’s post).

Pretty stupid to say she filed this for money so she must be lying. I would want money too if this prick did this to me. And lawyers dont take these cases unless they know they can win, as they take them on contingency. Every single person should file a lawsuit when police violate their civil rights. Every single time!!!

“And lawyers dont take these cases unless they know they can win…”

This is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. I literally laughed out loud. Nothing against this particular lawsuit because I don’t know much about it, but lawyers file frivolous lawsuits ALL THE TIME! Certain lawyers/firms are known for it, especially in Philly where filing a lawsuit can be almost like playing the lottery. In fact, one of this particular plaintiff’s attorneys (Weisberg) has been personally sanctioned and/or warned multiple times for frivolous filings. As soon as I saw his name in this post, I felt bad for the plaintiff and anyone else that has to deal with that case.

These are the same exact law firms who are also representing Sean Williams who was tasered while sitting on the curb in a video that went viral to the tune of 6 million views. I wouldn’t feel one bit sorry for the plaintiff!

BEN ROBINSON MAXINE ROBINSON v. FAMILY DOLLAR INC

Note, Weisberg was Plaintiffs’ attorney. See,

          ROBINSON v. FAMILY DOLLAR, INC.

I repeat, I feel bad for the plaintiff…

Anon – who either works in the DA’s office or is retired from there has sent in a comment with links to two court cases. Sigh. I have a busy night ahead and will check the links and publish your comment tomorrow.

          • Anon says:

Lol Try again on the job guess. And it’s only one case. One is the docket and the other is an appellate court decision in the case.

          • Becky says:

I have made your links hyperlinks. What is your point? I’m not reading all of that! Everyone loses a case from time to time. Is this a joke? She has three law firms on her suit and that should tell you something!

          • Anon says:

I think you may have missed the point of my original comment. It was to simply point out to the original commentator that lawyers do, contrary to what he said, file frivolous lawsuits all the time and that some, including one of her lawyers, are even known for doing so. The above was only one of many examples from this notorious attorney. It is just one of my favorites because it was actually a good case (if you sue the right people and make the necessary factual claims), but he really f’ed it up, even after getting a second chance at filing (but filing the exact same thing that had just been thrown out), and the court was like, “we aren’t real sure what he was thinking here.”

  2. huh? says:

The culture of the law enforcement and judiciary in Lancaster is seriously fucked up.

  3. smh says:

All she had to do was pull out the weed when asked and it all would have been avoided. If it’s just a summary why cause all the drama?

    • Becky says:

I have no doubt she was highly abusive and confrontational towards our police officers long before they got what is being presented as abusive towards her.

You must have a crystal ball! Respect works both ways. If the Lancaster police become know for this kind of behavior you can’t expect the public to respect them.

  4. smh says:

Statement of Facts #23, 3.5 grams marijuana in her possession. She broke the law, she got caught, end of story!

    • Becky says:

Under the new Lancaster marijuana ordinance it’s not even a crime – it’s a $25 fine! The police are there to protect and serve – not abuse!

It allows officers to file a summary charge, similar to a traffic ticket, for possession or use of up to an ounce of marijuana, or possession of paraphernalia.

City Council reduces penalties for small amounts of marijuana

      • smh says:

I have no doubt she was highly abusive and confrontational towards our police officers long before they got what is being presented as abusive towards her. I’ve seen this one play out several times over the years. Our police should not have to take abuse from citizens while they are performing their duty of protecting and serving. Baiting our cops is now the procedure on the street.

    • Anonymous says:

Is something wrong with you mentally? What gives anybody a right to violate a human while handcuffed?!!! The damage done without cuffs is a lifetime struggle. No one deserves that treatment and torture over marijuana. Men that traffic weight when caught dont get fondled and assaulted. Regardless if the law was broken we have a jury and judges for this reason. The chief of police and da should be disgusted. Wheres their integrity?! Police are supposed to protect. This is a sick case. Theres more than 1 video catching him behave this way. This is not ok or something that should be swept under the rug. Theres a lot of dishonest behavior going on that people are not even shocked anymore that should be a concern for everyone.

  5. Anonymous says:

And of course anyone who files a lawsuit is telling the absolute truth and it would never have anything to do with money.

    • Benton Harbor says:

Yea, just like the convention center, had nothing to do with money. Just ask Dale High and LNP. Nothing to see here.

    • Anonymous says:

Theres more than 1 vid showing him behave in the manner mentioned. Reread “Statement of Facts (#24)”

    • Anonymous says:

Completely agree. The culture of abuse and corruption starts at the top. This is not normal police behavior and cops dont pull this kind of crap unless they KNOW they can. He should be criminally charged but won’t. Stedman should have been charged with theft but wont. Now you know why the police chiefs are behind Stedman for judge and one reason why he is UNFIT TO BE A JUDGE.
