Come on, it was obviously the mother’s gun. She admitted she slept on that couch. As some sleep with a gun under pillow or under mattress, she no doubt kept hers “between cushions”. That’s not exactly locked up safely. Doesn’t PA have laws regarding safe storage?
If a “man in the house told him not to play with a gun because it’s not a toy”, shouldn’t that man be charged with reckless endangerment? How did the kid get his hands on the gun? Whose gun? The adult, obviously, knew someone could get killed and did nothing but make an innocuous, ineffective comment, that served ONLY to increase the charges for the juvenile and send him away for a longer prison term? That is not “equal justice”. It’s idiocracy.
To quote a 1960’s song:
“Where have all the flowers gone, long time after?”
It ends with:
“When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?”
