OTB. stop and search based on lack of civility (dead, wounded, shoot out, violent melee, overall increase in crime. I would much rather be stopped and searched by the police than shot by a thug. No different than cameras, if you are behaving in a civil manner there is nothing to be concerned about.

God, that’s just awful. I really don’t know what else to say.

“Stop and search” based on WHAT, praytell?

    Absolute horror

Yes, stop and search, and another yellow shirt program, maybe ” unleashed police”. People DID behave much better when Charlie Smithgall’s’s yellow shirts were active. The mayoress is depriving us citizens of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness just to keep the hipsters and tourists happy. I bet if dead and wounded started showing up in her neighborhood she’d get motivated. I actually saw one of the biker crowd with fancy bike and accessories earlier. Blew through stop sign, turned without signal, proceeded wrong way on one way street. By all means, cater to this crowd.

Thing is that crowd will leave the city when it’s no longer fashionable or hip to be in, or property taxes/livability decreases to a point where it’s just too “difficult” despite being they were the ones who pushed for bike lanes, no parking, city internet, unsustainable Criz funded restaurants, and leadership focused on cause of the month issues instead of just running a city effectively.

The anti car attitude is the worst. The city wants to strangle the economic mobility of residents by preventing them from commuting outside the city for better jobs/pay or force them to leave.

It’s all worth it for 2-3 national publication articles a year about lanc being mini Brooklyn.

I dont think the yellow shirt program is gonna work here in this area again due to us not having a problem with dealers hanging out on the streets. The only reason why yellow shirts worked before was because dealers were out at broad daylight hours on every corner and any business allowed. It will be a waste of money to pay yellow shirts now. They will drive around all day and not get half the people they did on a regular because of the cameras. The cameras drove the people inside. So now it all goes down hidden indoors. Stop and search wont help. Big dealers dont carry weight with them. The dealers that do get caught driving dirty only deal with petty weight. The cameras only caused them to find ways to be more slick. Take them cameras down and watch how the streets get again. Thats when u send yellow shirts out to clean up. Charlie knows exactly what im talking about he wasnt a fool.

Too many dead and wounded found on Lancasters streets. STOP AND SEARCH. It works, gun free zones don’t work. Come on Mayor you can authorize it.

    • Ellen Pee says:

She can. But that would be a side door admission there’s a serious crime problem in Lancaster which runs counter to the happy hipster hideaway spin.

LNP really on it as usual

    • Becky says:

Yep. All the bragging today about their 225 anniversary but not a person in the newsroom to walk to the crime scene or re-write the police press release. Pathetic!

    • Ellen Pee says:

Obviously you missed their big picnic items story. I wonder if Mayor Dickina will be questioned on her favorite picnic food?
