This email just in (Ken Smith’s comment is below in this post):
Ken Smith’s comment is ironic to say the least.  Drug Task Force detectives and funds were used to investigate a massage parlor in New Holland area.  The investigation ended up happily for one or two of them.  Stedman is fighting disclosure of DTF expenditures not only because of the SUV lease, but because DTF funds paid for hand jobs.  Nice fringe benefit if you can get it.  Stedman will not disclose fact he entered a three year lease for SUV in January 2016.  He still has vehicle.  Did he buy out residual on lease with his money and get a great deal or with DTF money?  He’s not saying.
You are right! What’s up with that? From the original LNP article, “Woman at New Holland health spa arrested for prostitution,” there is this (click here):
Reacting to complaints from residents, New Holland police and the Lancaster County Drug Task Force used undercover investigators to determine that a woman was offering to perform sex acts at the Angel Spa, 436 W. Main St., police said.

Yesterday, the above was a major story on Lancaster Online (click here).
So, we know black women can’t steal in Lancaster County – but what about white women? I published the below on November 27, 2018 (click here for the original). Neither of these women have spent a single day in jail and both are currently scheduled to have “status conferences” in their cases on April 17th; Hartman with Judge Donald Totaro and Roten with Judge David Wright.
LIP News will continue to follow their cases to see if white women really can steal in Lancaster County.

Ouch! It looks like an LNP moderator has already deleted the comment!

Yesterday afternoon I published a list of recent LNP editorials about childhood sexual abuse and they have another one today (click here)! Does LNP give the Amish a pass on this? Is there a double standard?
Please check back later today.

  1. B dupree says:

How low will Stedman go? Does he think he is untouchable? It will be a very dramatic fall that will be coming for him. How can anyone be so gullible or corrupt to support this nonsense. Christian values teach not to steal and to commit a crime to be able to accuse another makes them just as bad. It makes the police just as guilty as the person they are accusing. When will this county refuse to stop being just a real sad joke?

  2. Ammon says:

How is this criminal allowed to be the DA. Shouldn’t the FBI or someone be investigating this? Are they already being investigated? Dies Stedman really believe he is fit to be a judge? How corrupt is this county? Such an embarrassment!

  3. Ammon says:

Black Women go to jail for theft but white women who are related to Scott Martin don’t go to jail for a double murder, child endangerment, reckless driving, driving under the influence of illegal drugs, illegal drug possession and illegal drug paraphernalia and the list goes on. The point being anyone in this county will go to jail for any crime no matter how big or small but if you are related to Scott Martin you can get away with anything. Also as long as we have a corrupt DA in Stedman the law is applied only to some people but not all.

  4. my goodness says:

Rather drug task force money than my tax dollars.

  5. WTF? says:

Maybe he had something or someone else to offer. ADAs would probably let Charlie Manson walk if he could give up some dope dealers. Whitey Bulger comes to mind. Screw society and the people our rats hurt, my conviction rate is what matters.

  6. Anon says:

CP-36-CR-0003277-2017 He stole $159,000 from an elderly woman and threatened her saying the mafia was going to come after her. I would say that’s a nice little plea deal.

    • Becky says:

Thank you. I was also surprised when I saw this one but his docket states it was a negotiated plea deal so obviously the state attorney general’s office approved it. They state he had already paid back $37,000 thousand of the money – Lord knows how – a big win at the casino – but maybe that’s why?

  7. Anon says:

What about Audrey Voulgaris? She is another out-of-state woman (like the woman in your article) recently arrested for online scams involving a Lancaster resident. She is a white 69 year old woman sitting in jail waiting for extradition to Lancaster. You should follow that case as well, to be fair.

Or, how about Yancey Darnell Taylor? He was a black man that didn’t do a day in jail and was sentenced to probation for the same type of charges just the other day.

  8. Layne Kisster says:

LNP, law enforcement, the courts. They all give the Amish a pass. Exploiting them for tourism is a long standing tradition in Pennsylvania Dutch Country!
