Stedman needs to resign (see the second screenshot below) and what about the corruption in Lancaster City government? Is the document shown below and the decision that was made the reason Pat Brogan and Charlotte Katzenmoyer are gone? Why is Patrick Hopkins still employed by the city? There will be much more to come on all of this in the coming days.

*    The below is from the county’s response to Stedmans cease and desist letter. Click here to read their full response.

Posted on Lancaster Online under the below story.

Seiberling [Stedman’s attorney Mark Seiberling] demanded that the commissioners retract statements about Stedman’s use of forfeited drug assets and halt any investigation into the assets, his lease of an SUV and his supervision of staff.
From the LNP article, “DA Craig Stedman threatens slander suit against Lancaster County commissioners; commissioners refuse to bow,” (click here).
Who the hell does Stedman think he is? He is paid by the public to serve the public and he needs to answer to the public. Just resign, Stedman!
Please check back later today.

Don’t count on it. Any d-a- who can spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars draggong a judge thru the mud – and head of the JCB, at that – without a single bar complaint or ANYONE putting a stop to it KNOWING HE WOULD, ULTIMATELY, LOSE – can, pretty much, get away with anything.

  2. Attorney General says:

What is that I hear? Oh, footsteps of the Pennsylvania Attorney General

  3. Stedman coverup for Best fried Martin says:

    Stedman ran Martin’s campaign
    Bet you crooked too
Just like Matin beat Heather, abuser

Did any eye witnesses come forward to confirm a police car responding?

If that were the case, based on the unfolding scenario at the DA’s office, it confirms the corruption that many have hinted at. And, what the heck is with the DA, a public servant, wrangling a political campaign

  4. Anonymous says:

That SUV is nuthin’. See how he uses this task force to terrorize Ron Harper and others. His salary was NEVER enuf for him and he is a liar and a thief. That’s why he didn’t stand out. Lancaster NEVER needed an anti-drug “task force”. It was an idea Stedman came up with as a way to CONTROL and STEAL, undetected. Hope the Lancaster Bar and the GOP withdraw support prior to primary or they will have major egg running down their face. Hope it dries up and suffocates them. Democrats: Find a candidate NOW!!!

  5. huh? says:

I agree Becky. Walker is a reporter and low on the totem pole. His editors and bosses would not allow one word to be printed without their approval.

I am sceptical nonetheless about what’s going on behind the scenes. This new coverage is basically out of the blue.

The DA is impeding their open records request. And if they are pissy enough, they have the biggest outlet to make waves. He refuses to comply with the court’s order to release the information and they leak just a little dirt that they already had on the Toyota lease. If he keeps stonewalling, there is more I bet they know already. And he knows it too.

If he releases the documents, I would think, based on the paper’s history of coddling the DA, that they will back off on the personal attacks and create generic outrage. Otherwise the hits will keep on coming. The only one who has anything to lose is Stedman.

  6. Out of towner says:

It’s pretty clear why Walker is suddenly raining hell fire on Stedman. It’s purey political – his girlfriend and him are huge Jess King supporters so of course they want to oust Stedman. Isn’t the media supposed to be impartial when it comes to reporting. Now all of Walkers articles are about Stedman and his alleged wrongdoings.

    • Becky says:

Nonsense. It’s a legitimate story and something LNP should have been doing for years – holding public officials accountable. I don’t know anything about Walker or his politics.

  7. There are more crooks out there in Lancaster County politics
    Don’t stop at Stedman

  8. JP says:

    #BodyCams4Politicians !!

  9. Anon Esq. says:

Once he is indicted…and convicted he will have to pay back all legal costs AND the costs for the ODC to disbar him. He would be better off striking a deal to resign and agreeing not to run for judge or any public office ever again.

  10. my goodness says:

Umm, NO, it’s not ok with me for Stedman to use my tax money to pay his lawyer. Nor is it ok for him to use drug forfeiture money to pay his lawyer.

  11. Layne Kisster says:

Just like the 21k for leasing the SUV he didn’t pay out his own pocket.

  12. huh? says:

    Thanks for the correction, Becky.

    Latest headline:

Lancaster County DA’s office won’t say how law firm will be paid

Well, you can bet it won’t be coming out of his own pocket… Once again, another easy prediction.

  13. huh? says:

To answer your question about Hopkins, he is being eased out and allowed to “retire.” He’s made that announcement a while ago.

  14. huh? says:

Is this bunch of bozos so easy to see through or am I just that smart? (j/k… but as the exodus began, it was just too easy to speculate.) I’m too lazy to go back through the comments I’ve made to repost them here. Let’s just say, if that’s the case, what a bunch of bumblers.

  15. Layne Kisster says:

I thought Brogan got traded to Denver?

  16. Arch Angel says:

It is great to see Toyota finally get their revenge on the county. There are too many people who have been unfairly wronged by the current administration. Can’t wait for the second show to drop and the truth come out about Scott Martin. Could be he newspaper actually have found a conscience?

  17. Layne Kisster says:

My guess is Steady wasn’t being a good lapdog, and for once Lame News Paper is acting like a real newspaper. Even if it’s for personal reasons.

  18. Anonymous says:

Echoing everyone else, but would love to know what really pushed LNP and the commissioners to go so hard at Stedman so suddenly.

  19. Keep digging says:

you should read the entire response from the Lancaster county Commissioners office to Steadman’s allegations. The truth is in that response.

  20. huh? says:

Ohwellist which is why the posted at the very beginning of all of this “call me sceptical.”

  21. my goodness says:

Off subject. Wonder if madam mayor will be billing MT for back sewer fees from about 1919-1945 to present. That would be a chunk of change to get the ball rolling to stop dumping raw sewage into the Conestoga. How could Lancaster City not know that some MT sewers were tied into Lancaster City’s sewage system for all those years? So many questions…

  22. Ohwellist says:

Its funny all these years lnp covered his behind and exalted him. Now its open season on that behind lol. Whats really going on here?

  23. my goodness says:

It would be interesting to know who is unmaking him and why. Nary a disparaging word from LNP in regards to repugnant deeds he did or ignored over the years and all of a sudden their fair haired boy is the subject of a lot of unflattering publicity. Who is the power in Lancaster County? What really initiated LNP,s reversal?

  24. Anonymous says:

Also, as an afterthought, I find it troubling the commissioners would summarily dismiss a letter seeming to directly contradict and disprove their earlier allegation that Stedman did not have permission from the county to lease the vehicle.

  25. Anonymous says:

When I commented earlier, your post from today was not up yet. I would also place it here, if ok, because I really am interested.

Anyone else read the letter from Stedman? It is actually very interesting. Don’t know how much is true, but seems like a lot of it would have paperwork somewhere to at least partially back it up. Also, a lot of information not previously made public by LNP, although I did see ABC27’s earlier report saying the county controller had, in fact, given Stedman the county’s permission to lease the vehicle. ABC27 says they actually have the letter and I think that makes it very unlikely the commissioners did not know about this before. Also interesting that the controller supposedly has previously returned checks from Stedman for overpayments on mileage…..would love to see those to see if they actually do exist. Going to be very interesting to see this play out.
