*    — And he’s blamed LNP, especially reporter Carter Walker, for bringing all this to light.
From today’s editorial linked to below.
What really seems to have sealed Stedman’s fate with LNP is that his office does not like LNP reporter Carter Walker.
From the texts between Stedman and attorney Michael Hess there is one from Stedman (click here):     Hmmm…

From today’s LNP editorial (click here).

That is strongly worded and Stedman should not be a judge. But where was LNP when Stedman gave Representative Bryan Cutler’s brother-in-law, G. Scott Davis, unbelievably preferential treatment when he shot and killed his two-month-old daughter on Christmas Eve?
Where was LNP when Stedman gave then County Commissioner Scott Martin’s sister, Katie West, unbelievably preferential treatment involving drugs and a fatal car crash?
Where was LNP when Stedman gave a cop’s son and his friend, Devin Gardill and Luke Karpathios, unbelievably preferential treatment for an armed and violent home invasion for drugs?
Where was LNP then? Why weren’t they screaming for justice then? No, Stedman should not be a judge!

Oh…and nobody “dragged” Stedman into ANYTHING. He ORCHESTRATED the entire “Mark Karen thing”. Gimme a break! Fetterman’s accuser is Mansfield’s best buddy. The allegations, if true, are older than the county’s records destruction policy calls for, and nobody cares or believes them, anyway.

  2. OnTheBeachByNoon says:

No, no, no and NO! Obviously Stedman wanted a phone call so there would be no written record of his threats. Give me a break! He doesn’t “look sympathetic”. He looks desperate – to hang on to his public image and his career (and, most importantly, his POWER! Meanwhile, how arrogant is this a’hole to dictate to a newspaper who he will and “will not deal with”? Unbelievable! But I believe it. Craig Stedman is “THAT BAD”!

The texts show otherwise. As soon as Stedman said he was going to go public with the whole Fetterman story, Hess told him to watch what happens now. Before that, Hess was all conspiratorial with him and saying that the rumor mill needs to be shut down. The change came immediately after Stedman said he was going public to protect himself.

I am not going to argue all day with you. Your endless comments will not be able to save Stedman. He’s a thief. He prosecutes people all the time for theft and he is a thief!

Those texts make it look like Hess was just mad that everyone was allowing Fetterman’s story to go public and nobody was willing to stick their neck out for him.

    • Becky says:

No, I think Hess turned when Stedman wanted Brown out of the race and threatened Hess/Fetterman if Hess did not get him out!

I have to agree with Anonymous above. The texts make it appear that Hess turned on Stedman abruptly and became threatening when Stedman said he was going to tell the truth about the Fetterman ordeal after everybody started publicly dragging him into the mess between Karen and Mark. Makes me question everything Hess said subsequently….

It appears to me that the text messages do NOT support LNPs account of events or positions.

The texts make Stedman a sympathetic character in this.

Makes LNP look vindictive and creating the news. Yesterdays editorial as well.

Layne, because he is Farsighted in his Sight so those Glasses are to Read.

Good Lord Huh? They do look like horns! LOL!

The danger of Stedman on the ballot in November is that he will win by default, as voters who decide not to vote for him are not cancelling out a yes vote with their declination. Obviously, he knows this, and democrats have failed their party but not offering a suitable candidate in opposition.
On a related note, a criminal investigation needs to be initiated immediately – if it has not already been done – as he should not be allowed to finish out his term as a lame duck, spend all his work time defending himself from (deserved) personal attacks, remain on the judicial ballot, and then be elected to the most important and influential position up for grabs in November by dragging out any investigation until after he is elected. He is banking on that. Dirty tricks is how he wins trials and how he advances his own interests. He knows no other strategy. He needs to be removed from his current position pending a criminal investigation by, at least, the state Attorney General. However, it appears there are federal crimes involved, too. Again, I hope a special prosecutor is appointed and a grand jury convened. He is hiding alot more than a leased Toyota. And voters deserve more. Hopefully, the governor will take note. Judge Reinaker needs to step up to the plate, as well. If Kathleen Kane can rot in jail for leaking 10-yr old grand jury info – and Stedman called for her resignation while she was still in office – the same should apply to him – for the same reasons he proffered when he grandstanded against her.

I didn’t see the stupid blogger comment. Maybe I missed some of the pages.

It does seem to me that Hess ended up playing Stedman like a fiddle. Which makes me wonder just why he shared so much? You would think a DA would be cagier and more circumspect than that.

As for the glasses on his head, a while back I said that they looked like horns growing out of his head in one of the pics they seem to run often.

  11. Layne Kisster says:

Off topic. But why does Steady wear his glasses on top of his head?

  12. huh? says:

Love it that Carter Walker is a thorn in his side. That is such a great WASP name.

    • Becky says:

Yes, Michael Hess came out very strongly against Stedman. If you read them all – I assume you read Stedman’s reference to the “stupid blogger?” I believe that’s me! 😉 🙂

  13. huh? says:

I read the emails. Was Hess playing Stedman for the fool? I may be wrong but didn’t Hess come out forcefully against Stedman?

  14. my 2 cents says:

Lots of hate Layne! My question, why do you still live here? Becky, I would have thought you would have loved to be called to the court case involving the Martins. Why did you not go?? And yes, you are right, Stedman will get elected because its too late in the game for anyone else to run against him. Only hope is he gets dis-barred in the next few weeks. I highly doubt that will happen, but one can only hope!!! And yes, I am hoping!!

  15. Layne Kisster says:

And more recently. Steady helped get David Smucker (Amish charged with twenty four counts of child molestation being held on two million dollars bail) out of LCP and into Whispering Hope. A cushy facility for Amish, Mennonites, and other plain sects the law doesn’t apply to. Keep up the pressure, but don’t be surprised when Steady gets elected. This is Lancaster County. A pro-choice, child molesting satanist who supports gun control and sells kiddie porn would get elected so long as he’s a Republican.

  16. huh? says:

Is the DA involved in any way with the pending cases brought against the LNP?

    • Becky says:

??? William Murry’s case against LNP is the only one I know of – are there others? Both Murry and Stedman are using the same Philadelphia Law Firm Kleinbard LLC – Stedman against the county commissioners. And attorney Matthew Haverstick is heavily involved in Murry’s suit and his brother Fritz Haverstick works in the Lancaster DA’s office.
