  • AFTERNOON UPDATE *** BREAKING NEWS *** – ** – * LNP: FROM PROTECTOR TO PREDATOR!

    •     In social media posts, our journalists must not express partisan opinions, promote political views, endorse candidates, make offensive comments or do anything else that undercuts The Times’s journalistic reputation.
From the New York Times, “The Times Issues Social Media Guidelines for the Newsroom,” (click here).
That is a very strict policy and it would seem their journalists should not have social media accounts or limit them to sports and their children. I don’t know what guidelines LNP has for their reporters on social media (they surely do not have a journalism code of ethics) and I don’t know what Knapp posted on his private Facebook account.
But to instruct reporters to write favorably about Donald Trump is also absolutely unethical and simply unbelievable.  And let’s not forget that LNP owner, Beverly Steinman, has donated huge sums of money to the Republican party and conservative Republican candidates for years.
         There will be more tomorrow.

    *** BREAKING NEWS ***

    SUE THEM!

Former LNP reporter Tom Knapp just posted the below on his non-private (formerly LNP) Facebook page.
         Sue them, Tom!

    *****

**   I will ask again: Should taxpayers be paying for Marriott Hotel rooms for LNP?

    ******

    *    LNP opinion editor Suzanne Cassidy just tweeted today’s editorial (see below).
You are an absolute disgrace to journalism, Cassidy! LNP should be removed immediately from any legitimate news organizations in the state and the country!

    ******

    SHOULD TAXPAYERS
    PAY FOR MARRIOTT
    HOTEL ROOMS?

Today’s LNP editorial (pictured left – click here) and from NewsLanc.com, “REF speaks: The fall of Lancaster,” (click here).

The hypocrisy and lies from LNP are simply believable! How about $5,100 for a yoga room and over $9 million dollars for rooms in a for-profit, off the tax-rolls Marriott Hotel expansion owned by racist LNP?  Om, no.
         LNP is a predator indeed!
    Please check back later today.

    1. Lancastrians have only themselves to blame.

    2. That’s a little harsh don’t you think. LNP controls the media so the public never really understood or had input in any of this (except for/through Mayors Gray and Sorace and city council who did/do whatever LNP wants)!

    3. Back to the topic of LNP prints whats in their interest. I don’t understand their angle with these nitpicky nothing articles on state spending.

A whole self-righeous idignition article devoted to how the state spent $5,000… really????

I hope the State puts an end to the CRIZ scam, the sooner the better.

    4. Perhaps it’s a bit harsh. However, there were plenty of business owners who saw the writing on the wall.

    5. And I should have included the CRIZ Board, especially Tom Baldrige!!!

    6. On LNP’s Facebook page there is the expected outrage over the $5,100 for the yoga room. But these people don’t realize that LNP is using over $9 million dollars of their money for hotel rooms!!!

    7. Take ‘em to the mat Tom.

    8. If Tom’s assertion is true…….why does LNP bend over backwards to print anti-Trump letters to the editor, and why does LNP continue to print anti-Republican ‘editorials’ from left-wing columnists????

LNP financially supports those that will do LNP’s bidding. End of story in that regard.

    9. I’m with huh! The voters in Lancaster County are idiots and get what they deserve. And if they don’t know by now that the news media sucks, then that just proves my point further. Worse than stupid is apathetic. They don’t care that they are being raped in property and school taxes, corrupt cops and prosecutors, double crossing elected officials, gang stalked by cameras, etc. It is perfectly ok for LNP to run cookie recipe contests and WGAL to waste valuable time that could be spent on real news with Brian Roche “protecting” your social security # and video of ANY fire ANYWHERE, no matter how insignificant (as long as they have video).

    10. BTW, the irony is not lost on me that reporters no longer have First Amendment rights. Only the idiots who don’t use them have them. And the smartest people in this shithole county are the Amish. Because for a mere pittance (and by pretending to be “plain” and “quaint”) they bought themselves eternal freedom from government oppression. And you can’t put a price tag on that.

    11. On the up side, it’s nice to see that the man responsible for making police less transparent – and less safe – through encryption of radio communications is losing his job. Maybe county commissioners will rethink that vote.

    12. Anonymous. Don’t forget LNP’s hard hitting investigate pieces on where to buy the best Woopie Pies and their Pulitzer worthy reporting on chicken corn soup. With Lent on the horizon, we should soon be reading fasnauct stories.LNP caters to their advertisers. They don’t dumb it down to cater to Lancastrians. People in Lancaster County have overwhelmingly rejected LNP to such a point their three newspapers of past (Sunday News, New Era. Intelligence Journal) are no more. In their stead is a merchandiseresque coupon clipped;LNP. Readers have rejected LNP to the point the P has had to resort to charging to read online.

    13. Anonymous, here is what galls me more than anything. As a third class city, Lancastrians have the right to collect signatures of registered voters and with enough signatures mount a referendum that is then placed on the ballot for a yes or no vote.

A referendum could take on the money grubber vis a vie enacting a local law that requires citizens approve any use of taxpayers money by a private company. That may sound unattainable in Lancaster when the press can sway the citizens; but it’s always worth a shot because you never know who can override the monopoly to clearly inform the voters that they need to do so.

The group grubbing the money knows they are always on thin ice. Before the CRIZ money was approved to knock down three nineteenth century buildings to make way for the expansion and rooftop bar, a certain builder started buying up those buildings using what amounts to be a shell company with an innocuous name but clearly tied to the builder when its address is searched.

Now, why didn’t that builder purchase those buildings under their real name? As a friend of mine always says… You be the judge.

    14. Agreed. And I forgot to mention: THE FOOD IN LANCASTER COUNTY SUCKS!!!
