*    Karen L. Connelly, who was arrested and charged with Lyons, did not have her preliminary hearing today according to District Justice Edward Tobin’s office at 3:45 pm this afternoon. Hers has also been scheduled for tomorrow at 10:30 am and that will apparently happen tomorrow.
The woman who answered the phone, when asked about Lyons said his had been scheduled for tomorrow but the change “just happened this morning.”

Jeffrey B. Lyons’ preliminary hearing was held today instead of tomorrow according to his docket (see below and click here for his updated docket).
He waived the hearing and all the charges were held over to Common Pleas Court. Was this a cleverly calculated move to avoid press coverage? His docket stated this morning the hearing would be tomorrow.

*    Jeffrey B. Lyons is scheduled to finally have his preliminary hearing on six felony charges of theft from the Worley & Obetz Company tomorrow at 10:30 am before District Judge Edward A. Tobin. He was arrested on August 28th on the charges and has been out of jail on $1 million cash bail posted by two bail bondsmen since.
His hearing was originally scheduled for October 9th after he retained defense attorney Robert David Beyer of Goldberg & Beyer. However, that was continued until tomorrow because Lyons was “not available.”

Jeffrey B. Lyons                                 Jere K. Lyons

Posted under the Lancaster Online story about Jere Lyons, “Man charged with damaging about 80 vehicles in Lancaster General Hospital parking garage,” (click here).
Are they brothers? I cannot say for sure, but while the Crime Watch page for Jere Lyons doesn’t list his middle initial his criminal docket does list it as “K.”
And in the obituary for Jere Myer Lyons in May of this year it states he has three sons and two of them are named Jeffrey B. Lyons and Jere K. Lyons (click here).
Does it get any more bizarre than this?
Please check back later today.

    this is a joke, right?

Held today instead of tomorrow. It must be rewarding to be a fraudster and thief, afford a millionaire’s ransom (bail) and a private lawyer paid for with stolen cash and avoid scrutiny in a system that has bowed to his every whim.

His brother won’t get such kid gloves treatment. And there will be much more disdain towards him I’ll bet than his brother who apparently is still able to manipulate the system.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Jeffrey Lyons uses his brother’s mental illness to mount an insanity defense himself.
