UPDATE 11-21-18 – The below email in response to my question of when Raymond Corll will be sent back to prison to complete his sentence:
Dear Ms. Holzinger,
Corll has 14 days to seek reargument before the Superior Court and 30 days to seek review before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania; so, there is still a wait involved.
Christopher J. Schmidt
Deputy Attorney General
WHEN WILL CORLL
FINISH HIS PRISON SENTENCE?
Former Lancaster city police Sgt. Ray Corll posted bail Tuesday, allowing him to be released from prison while his case is under appeal.
From the June 28th, 2017 LNP article, “Former Lancaster city police Sgt. Ray Corll released on bail during appeals process,” (click here).
Corll lost that appeal today. When will he be recommitted to prison to finish his sentence? When I receive an answer to that question, I will publish it here.
The District Attorney’s Office did not address this very important issue in their press release today, and hence LNP has not either (click here for the DA’s release).
The woman who answered the phone in President Judge Dennis Reinaker’s office late this afternoon said she “is not sure when he will be recommitted.” She put me on hold and then came back and said Corll can now appeal to the Supreme Court of PA.
That takes time. Will Corll be recommitted and when? Someone has to know! Again, if I get an answer I will publish it when received.
I will also come back to the LNP story pictured left when this site comes back from Thanksgiving break on Sunday, November 25th (click here for the LNP story).
Can you even imagine LNP not questioning when Corll will be returned to prison to complete his sentence? Unbelievable!
*** The beginning of the Superior Court’s 24 page memorandum issued today and affirming Raymond Corll’s conviction and sentence by the Lancaster County Court. When will Corll be taken back to jail to finish his sentence?
WHEN WILL CORLL
GO BACK TO JAIL?
The final page of the Superior Court’s decision in Raymond Corll’s appeal is below. When will he be taken back to jail to finish his sentence?
CORLL LOSES APPEAL
The Superior Court of Pennsylvania has upheld former Lancaster City Police Sgt. Raymond Corll’s conviction and sentence by the Lancaster County Court. Corll has lost his appeal.
* Roxanne of the Superior Court of PA said by phone today that the court has affirmed that they are not changing anything that occurred in Corll’s trial in Lancaster County. It would appear that Corll has lost his appeal.
She stated the court issued a 24 page memorandum regarding the case and in her brief perusal told me the Superior Court has affirmed the decision of the Lancaster County Court – and thus, once again, it appears Corll has lost. I am working to absolutely confirm this.
*** BREAKING NEWS ***
There has been a decision today in former Lancaster Police Sgt. Raymond Corll’s appeal to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. It appears his appeal of his conviction has been approved regarding simple assault. His docket simply says “Yes” (click here).
Stay tuned for this developing story.
WHAT ABOUT YOU, LNP?
From today’s LNP editorial titled online, “Racist expressions of hate cannot be waved away,” (click here).
Well, isn’t that special? The LNP editorial board gets up on their high horses and talk about race and hate! Why don’t you tell the public the racial and ethnic make-up of your news and editorial staff, LNP? You do not have a single black reporter or editor on your staff and you have one recently hired Hispanic reporter.
As I’ve been saying on this site for over 14 years now: Racism in Lancaster County begins with the Lancaster Newspapers.
