MAW and LanCity Connect were mentioned several times during last night’s city council committee meeting (click here to watch).
One was during a review of the city’s 2017 audit talking about expenses and an increase of $400,000 in the general fund for LanCity Connect. MAW was mentioned again when Patrick Hopkins was talking about expenses for the Mayor’s office and a transfer and said there were $83,000 in legal expenses for MAW.
Finally, with about 5:52 to go in the meeting city councilman Pete Soto and Mayor Sorace had this brief exchange:
Soto – How soon will we get an update on Lancaster Connect?
Sorace – LanCity Connect…um…There’s really no update at this point. There’s a little bit of a stalemate because PP&L and MAW… PP&L is waiting on MAW for certain things and so PP&L is not going to move forward with any approvals for pole attachments or any new work until those requirements are met. So… we’re waiting.
Soto – How far behind schedule are we at this point on that? A year? A year-and-a half?
Sorace – Significantly.
Soto – Thank you, mayor.

Anyone who didn’t see she’s nothing more than former mayor Dick’s clone and voted for her. You got what you deserve.

How sad that it only took weeks into office to find out how corrupt Danen Sorace is. Did anyone really think this upstart into politics cared about the community so much she wanted to “give back”? I’m sorry…but Lancaster County gets what they deserve. You all voted them in – and now get to get ulcers for the next four years while she and her family line their pockets at everyone else’s expense. The people in Lancaster County are stupid and apathetic. That’s just the way it is. As for the high domestic abuse rate…the reason is the culture of bullying against women and children that is alive and well every single day..as it has been from the beginning, starting with the Amish. Why anyone would want to live, work, play or spend one dime of their hard-earned money in Lancaster County escapes me. I also do not know why anyone is surprised how racist the county is. The amount of diversity within the population has absolutely nothing to do with the leadership’s plans to “reflect the community”. I know you have been complaining about it for years…with the newspaper, the police, etc. But it has not changed one iota. And it won’t. No many how many stories you uncover, articles you write, or protests that are held. There is no shaming the greedy POS’ that run Lancaster County. That is the way it has always been, the way it is now, and the way it will stay. Republican, corrupt and greedy. That includes the judiciary, the DA, county and municipal governments, lawyers, etc. This is where the Serenity Prayer comes into play.

Why one can almost hear her say “frankly”.

The audit is very important and I have to listen to the whole thing again. But in a different discussion on vacant properties and increasing fees (of course – “but they are mostly paid by financial institutions”), Sorace actually used the word “benchmarking!”
Of course her husband is a vice-president of Benchmark Construction who is proposed to get the $25 million dollar contract for Lancaster Square! I think something was on her mind! 🙂
