Sadly, this was a top national news story today (click here).

****  Again from today’s front page story on Raymond Rowe who is accused of killing Christy Mirack in 1992: LNP reporter Lindsey Blest talks about and quotes Chris Ballentine yet never identifies him! He is a current city council member! What in the world is wrong with these reporters?

***  I am not going to link to this morning’s LNP front page story because you may have to pay to read it. But a small portion is reprinted below. How did LNP find Emily Noble? Did she call LNP and want to talk or did the DA’s office tell LNP about her?
My guess is the DA’s office because they want to put the word out that he was “abusive.” They need it to make their case and I don’t put it past them for a minute.
I didn’t think back then women went after married men and LNP doesn’t tell us why they broke up. The whole thing is bizarre:

**   Uh, oh! I got this message at 10:10 am this morning when I clicked on a story. This will not work, LNP!

Posted on Lancaster Online under, “LancasterOnline to launch digital subscription service Monday: A message from LNP’s president,” (click here).

Oh, Kate! There is absolutely nothing good to say about the current POTUS! He’s a crazy narcissist who is embarrassing this country and everything about it daily. And good journalism is not dead (although Trump is trying to kill it)!

I have been a digital customer of LNP for several years now paying $5.15 a month. I had no problem reading the paper online this morning or reading articles on Lancaster Online.
I don’t know if I have to “re-subscribe” or if they will just increase my monthly charge (which I don’t know if it’s legal without notification which I have not had). I am willing to pay $9.99 a month but not a penny more! We will see how today goes…
Please check back later today.

  1. Ron Stabb says:

Yes, LNP has a liberal bias. I won’t pay a dime to read that liberal rag.

  2. huh? says:

How did the LNP find her?

“When she learned of Rowe’s arrest, Noble called the Lancaster County district attorney’s office.

“I can corroborate that he was abusive,” she said she told them. Detectives worked with authorities in Albuquerque to set up an interview with her in her New Mexico home.”

Maybe they have a mole in the DA’s office? cough cough…

  3. OnTheBeachByNoon says:

Agree w/Becky re “abusive”. Don’t find that woman credible. Pursues a married man, breaks up his marriage, then dumps him. Nobody I would trust. Guess that is the best ex they could come up with.

  4. huh? says:

Rednek – their comments under their article seem to be divided between “LNP sucks” and lots of conservatives commenting.

  5. Rednek says:

If one bases their definition of a ‘liberal’ newspaper by the number of ‘progressive’ columnists as compared to ‘conservative’ columnists, then one could easily describe LNP as ‘liberal’.

If one bases their definition on the number of anti-conservative letters printed, then one could accurately describe LNP as ‘liberal’.

I am not defending our POTUS by any means; but LNP definitely has it in for him. LNP will however support any politician who supports their con-center/hotel thievery.

  6. barry in winnipeg says:

I read all of the comments on lancaster online last night about this paywall proposal, and what I cannot understand is how anyone would accuse LNP of being ‘liberal’? Seriously, ‘liberal’? LNP may not be the print equivalent of Fox News, but I have never come across even one article on why or how our locally congressman supports President Trump’s madcap tweets on ‘fake news’ or on his Russia Summit performance. Don’t you think even in Pretzel County someone would actually interview the man and ask him whether he fears that there may be an erosion of the rule of law on his watch? This accusation stunned me.

  7. huh? says:

The sturdiest paywall I have come across was a small town paper of all things.

If they still have the Facebook page, nonsubscribers can still post comments.

  8. Stedman Stinks says:

Already found a way around their paywall…took all of 30 seconds. I can’t believe people are willing to pay money for this garbage.

There’s an article on their home page titled ‘6 eerie dead malls in Pennsylvania’ which I thought looked familiar. Upon clicking the link, they openly acknowledge “This story was originally published July 29, 2017.”

They should pay ME $9.99 for wasting my time.

  9. Lang Kisster says:

Oh Kate. LNP sucks. It’s a coupon clipper with rewritten press releases being passed off as news. Liberal bias? LOL! No. Champion of whomever is a friend to Con Center interests? Yes.

  10. huh? says:

Liberal bias? What newspaper are those people reading??
