Back to this morning’s post and Benchmark Construction – It seems odd that they are one of the highest donators to Lloyd Smucker’s campaign this year because they were also the highest donors to Mayor Danene Sorace’s campaign!
From the May 30, 2017 LNP “insider” article, “Analysis: Lancaster’s Democratic mayoral candidates spent $6.54 per vote in primary,” there is this (click here):
She received 16 donations of $1,000 or more, by far the most among the three candidates. That includes $11,500 from a half-dozen donors affiliated with Benchmark Construction Co., the workplace of her husband, Christian Recknagel.
And this graphic:      Robert A. Brandt Jr. and Michael A. Callahan are the presidents of Benchmark Construction.
How do you possibly reconcile Sorace and Smucker? Could any two politicians be more different?

**   “The state of Minnesota hereby adopts a policy of zero tolerance of Arie Luyendyk Jr. from season 22 of The Bachelor,” reads the document. “It is state policy that every person in the state has a right to live free from the presence of Arie Luyendyk Jr. in the state.”
(Click here for the “People” article.)

    *     This heavily cropped photo of Scott Martin in a hot tub is for “Ida” (see the comments under “JUDGE THIS!” – click here).

It doesn’t get much better than this! And these women did the only smart thing and unplugged “her.”

From the top contributors to Lloyd Smucker in 2018 (click here). Where have we heard of Benchmark Construction before? Hmmm…

LNP has a lot of job openings (click here). Their ad for the General Assignment Reporter includes this:
Solid understanding of news writing, journalistic ethics and story structure.
What is LNP’s code of journalistic ethics and why don’t they publish it? Do they have one? How can anyone who works for LNP have journalistic ethics?

LNP has filled one position. Sigh…
    Please check back later today.

I wonder what a Treasurer makes? It is not listed

We know what a State Senator makes, but also gets a daily per diem, as I recall $175

We do not know what WOOOCats makes

Do govt employees have to disclose conflicts?

      Scott F.
      State Senator

    2. I hope I didn’t traumatize Ida with that photo of Scott Martin. 🙂

Maybe there’s a politician who would introduce a bill in the Pennsylvania legislature that would ban Scott Martin from the state?

“It is state policy that every person in the state has a right to live free from the presence of Scott Martin in the state.”

    3. I want to be like Ida

      This is so horrible
My opinion, no wonder the Martin family has issues
      Very sad, and unjust imo
The West family, has to be in so much pain, years of healing I assume, for many

    4. I was slightly traumatized because I didn’t see him when I was in there earlier. Every person should have the right to soak free from the presence of a corrupt politician.

You can see the compensation for the county treasurer and other county elected officials by reviewing the county budget and clicking on “2018 General Fund Take Away Reports”. Page 11, Item 7111 begins the treasurers office. The elected official line shows $86,527 for 2018. Up 1.25% from 2017 (isn’t that special).

You would need to contact the Lancaster County Voter Registration office to see the candidate “Statement of Financial Interest” report to see if there are any conflicts. You likely will need to file a Right to Know Request for this report.

For state elected officials you need to contact the Bureau of Commission, Elections and Legislation at 717-787-5280 to see what you need to file to get the information.

You can review candidate political action committee (PAC) reports online. You can view who elected official are donating to and who is giving them money.

    5. Ida
      Your the best

Well, the Martin’s make too much.
      Amber is”living the dream”
She very rarely comes to work.

Woooo cats has her busy living that conflict of interest DREAM. And using the $84k per year State Senator Martin who worked for a lobbiest using influence and promises to get Wocsts business

      All a shame

If they did not sign a conflict of interest, and I will find out, they should be fired.
      This should had been disclosed.

People that voted for them should have known the conflicts before they voted.

    6. I was slightly traumatized because I didn’t see him when I was in there earlier. Every person should have the right to soak free from the presence of a corrupt politician.

That is one of the best/funniest things I have read in a long time. It will keep me chuckling even if we get another nor’easter!

    7. Legally Blonde

I really wish that Mrs. ‘I always have to smile and be nice to make everyone sick’ did not come to work but that is not the case as I have to see her fake face almost every day. She runs her office like a sorority. All of the women in that office are just as happy and fake as she is and they all decorate for each other like little kids. I am not making this up. We stay late two nights a week in my office and at least once a month Amber is coming back to the office after hours so she can decorate for insert any stupid occasion. They literally celebrate everything in that office and decorate people’s desks like little kids for their birthdays. Amber has some like reward chart for her staff and they blow this loud ass horn every time one of them makes one of their goals. They all clap and hug each other. Oh! And Amber bought all of her sorority sisters these expensive chairs because she felt they would get back problems if they did not have expensive chairs. You cannot make this stuff up. And who is paying for a massage therapist to give chair massages to her staff once a month? Someone should really look into that and her stupid ‘thankful Friday’ lunch bunches she gets catered. My coworker casually mentioned to one of Amber’s staffers how it must be nice to get lunch and massages all the time and the staffer flipped out on my coworker about how everyone is just jealous and blah blah blah. One of the deputies said he thinks Amber puts happy pills in her staff’s coffee because they all smile like robots and have melt downs if you dare question anything about their head sorority sister. I want to know who the hell is paying for all those lunches, massage people furniture and all these dinner parties those plastic wenches brag about????

    8. Legally Blonde: I feel your pain. I’ve worked around people like that and the only word I can come up with is infantalization. I don’t even know if that’s a word or if it is how to spell it but I’m sure you get my drift.

These are the things that make women look so inept and stupid and childish. And dollars to doughnuts, there will always be drama in a nonconfrontational way.

She makes herself look so stupid in the eyes of the men who are managers by running an office like it’s a sorority. I am sure that she banks on the fact that she’s married to Martin and shielding herself by flaunting that fact.

Yes, this is a rant. Your post hit a nerve. You can be sure that there is at least one woman on the outside looking in.

    9. Legally Blonde
I hope Amber and her sole sisters are reporting this as part of their income per IRS rulings. Of course our county treasurer knows this.

    10. Clerk of courts is worse

What is up with these women? I don’t work in Amber’s building so I can not intelligently comment on her or her Office but I got one worse for you all.

Jacquie Pfursich got her job by kissing butt. Literally. She was a part time baby solicitor for the county before she ran for Office. Plain and simple she is not qualified and her management skills are terrible. Her staff despises her because she is incompetent and mean. She not only used her office as a daycare for her kids but she is never really there. We call her flash because you see her and then she’s gone for the rest of the day.

She likes to Office hop and talk about politics and people while at work as she brags how’s she’s the chair of her local party. Tell me why Jacquie’s husband’s lawfirm gets a ton of county jobs and money now that she is Clerk of Courts?

She also brags about owning a BMW. Who cares? The big joke for a long time was how Jacquie would use the office to breastfeed her kids and then she would leave for the day and go home. Her husband also has quite the wandering eyes so I am told. Maybe Jacquie and Amber can plan parties together while their husbands go off doing God knows what.

    11. I want to be like Ida

To stop these local politicians report them

      To- FBI Forms-Tips

      And to Governor Tom Wolf

      Phone number 717-787-2500. And

      Email:govcorrespcrm Governor’s Correspondence..

      Waste of your tax dollars
This shows why our property taxes went up
the corruption has to stop Hold them accountable

      Amber Martin Rewards
her people To do her job because she’s not capable of doing it

    12. I want to be like Ida

      Practice what you preach

      That’s funny
When school is out in the summertime
Amber Martin’s children has been in Amber’s office many times or her husband Scott Martin’s office sitting there waiting to be taken home
      Poor kids
What a way to spend their summer day. setting in one of those 2 offices doing nothing
You’re right these offices are not baby setting services
They are being paid for by Tax dollars
And talk about a husband having a wondering eye ………. Amber Martin needs to look at her own Husband’s
      Just saying

    13. OntheBeachbyNoon

I am on a biz trip and cant do it. But will somebody PLEASE go on PA Ethics Comiission website and pull up Statements of Financial Interest for every one of these clowns? And if they are not readily available, that means the County has them. You do NOT need a RTK request! And if county gives you a hard time, that means they dont exist and you should file an IMMEDIATE complaint with Ethics Commission. The statements go back at least seven years. If u do get them, SCOUR them. Look for gifts you know of that were not reported, (yes, free food!), unreported income, property, etc. C’mon girls. I KNOW you can do it!

    14. OntheBeachbyNoon

BTW, saw Amber on cell phone at supermarket during work hours a few weeks ago. She looked like a self righteous, pompous, self important ass.

    15. I want to be like legally blonde

Amber is always on cell telephone talking to people involving homeowner associations business. I wonder if Scott Martin got her business
She rarely works for the Treasurer Office except for the taxpayer massage and Taxpayer Food Fridays.

I noticed she is using this attorney

      SUITE 319
      LANCASTER, PA 17602

I wonder if Rebecca does any work for Lancaster County?

Look at some history and taxpayer dollars bailing the other Martin out for discrimination

You cannot make this stuff up

    17. Do you have a contact e mail for deibert, writer? Thanks

    18. I do not. If you have a Twitter or Facebook account, I suggest you try contacting him that way. He travels extensively so I would be patient if you contact him!

    19. He is a Visiting Scholar at F&M and they list this email:

However, he may not check that one very often?

      F&M – Michael Deibert – Visiting Scholar

At the very least, rewuesting SFI’s will ruin everyone’s week because they will have to scramble to backpedal and file, because you KNOW they dont. Dont worry about which ethics laws they are violating. Just look for all the red herrings. The ethics commission staff is VERY capable. Get them for the police chiefs like Pugliese and Stedman, too. And if they have two hats, or more, they have to file SFI’s for each. Like a corrupt cop who is also on a corrupt zoning appeals board, for e.g. I am working on something else that will bloe EVERYONE away.

    22. he is one strange dude

Scott Martin looks like such a big doofus in that hot tub
Not trying to be cruel just because I think he is a poor representation of Lancaster County. But, I call it like I see it.
He brags about his wrestling days. I believe he is around 47 years old. At least he looks it. It is time to grow up Scott. How in the world did this guy get elected. Oh that is right, he says he is a republican and ran on the Trump effect.

    23. Poor Heather, deserves better

This Report about Clemens resigning for having an affair reminds me of
      Senator Scott Martin

So much focus has been on Martin’s behavior and his 3rd wife I never took time to think about his 1st And 2nd wife Heather

      Heather married Scott Martin twice
She has his only 2 children ( 2 sons )

Scott Martin never treated Heather Martin right especially at the end of their marriage She deserved more
She deserved better then the way she was TREATED
For a man to put his future and his financial gain above his family
      – IS NO MAN –
He is nothing more than a self Absorbed – Spineless POS

So for all of the women out there that have been cheated on in their marriages, let’s pray that they find men that will love and cherish them for the rest of their lives
One day Heather will be happy she got rid of the trash
