As predicted yesterday, there is no follow-up on the Turkey Hill robbery (see the story immediately below). Not a video, not a photograph – not a “How is the investigation going?” or “What are you doing to solve this?” or “Where is the video?” question by LNP to the police – simply nothing. Just another unsolved crime the Lancaster Police and the Lancaster Newspapers hope we soon forget.
A friend and I ask each other all the time: “What do the Lancaster Detectives do all day?” Now, there is a partial answer: They spend a good part of the day trying to put minority men and women behind bars for years or life if they don’t like them or if they feel they are not respectful enough. That’s what these detectives do.
And the Lancaster Newspapers have turned a blind eye to this for years.

Jones3      Jones4

Tremayne Jones, Akeem Washinton’s cellmate for 24 hours, and the only witness against him in a trial that will put Washington in prison for the majority of his life, has taken down his extremely nasty Facebook page.
That’s right! The gang member and pimp’s Facebook page is down! Who called him from Lancaster and told him to take it down? Was it Judge David Ashworth, DA Craig Stedman, Detective Michael Winters or the guards at the prison?
Please check back later today.

  1. Frank Lee says:

my goodness. I have yet to see one these spandex clad yuppies obey a traffic signal.

  2. Painful says:

The articles written by LNP reporters are painful to read. Doesn’t the paper have any editors…or pride?

    From Lancaster Online, Ryan Robinson:

A piece of farm equipment shortly before 10:30 a.m. brought down power lines in an accident at the busy state road’s intersection with Graystone Road, Manheim Township police Lt. Tom Rudzinski said.

    • Becky says:

They have all these newly hired millennials who spend all day tweeting about journalism and social media and they don’t even know the basics or understand how important they are.

  3. my goodness says:

On another note, bicyclists in Lancaster. If our mayor is insistent on his bicycle lanes he had better advise our local bicyclists that they must follow laws. I have encountered 8 of them in the past few days, flying through stop signs and red lights, traveling wrong way on one way streets, never signaling ANYTHING, swerving in front of me, riding on sidewalks and flying across streets without looking. Lancaster’s bicyclists are accidents looking for a place to happen.

  4. my goodness says:

Thank God Mr. Witkonis won !! Every one living in the 8th ward had heard the rumors regarding nonsense that went on in that office, long before the Mellinger woman got caught dipping into the till. I think this is the best thing that has happened to Lancaster in years.

  5. huh? says:

PS yup, despite stacking the primary, Haines lost . wonders never cease.

  6. huh? says:

Thanks for the added info on the court case. It is obvious why I wondered if he was sent to Texas before the trial was over.

  7. my goodness says:

That’s ok, you got it while the gettin was good. Such a fine upstanding citizen according to the Lancaster (co) judicial/criminal system. Someone from around here alerted him.

    • Becky says:

huh? – Nothing that shows when he actually returned to Texas. His parole was moved there the day he pleaded guilty and was sentenced:

      • Becky says:

Yes, my goodness, someone from Lancaster had to alert him!

        • Becky says:

On a total side note – Adam Witkonis defeated James (Jamie) Haines in the District Judge race 709 -332. Haines should have never been on the ballot. I received a phone call, emails and a text message regarding Haines and I thank you all. Some of it I could not use, such as “He doesn’t pay his taxes because he thinks he’s above the law and doesn’t have to.”

Anyway, thank you all very much and thank goodness he lost!!!

  8. huh? says:

I certainly remember what he DID have up before. Becky, is there anything on record that shows what date he returned to Texas?

  9. Becky says:

Just to be sure(!), I tried to pull him up under several Facebook accounts. As of 8:00 am this morning, his Facebook page is down.
