** 10-27-14     We need to get 60 Minutes involved to uncover and report just what the real politics of Lancaster City looks like. City Council may be very diverse in it’s make-up, but we all know who REALlY runs Lancaster City, and what that power looks like
This comment in yesterday.  I am leaving this story at the “top” this morning.  It is time for the decent people of Lancaster County to say enough to the racist and unethical Steinman family and their Lancaster Newspaper employees.

    Please check back later today.

Who is responsible for the blatant discrimination in hiring at the Lancaster Newspapers?  We can begin with M. Steven Weaver:

    Steve Weaver

    M. Steven Weaver
Director of Human Resources and Administration at Lancaster Newspapers

The John Frederick Steinman Fellowship Fund Committee
    M. Steven Weaver, Secretary

…M. Steven Weaver, Lancaster Newspapers’ director of human resources and administration, said the company has sought estimates from two construction companies to do the work and is reviewing those amounts.
From an LNP article (click here).

A fire alarm went off in 8 West King Street Thursday morning – the offices of the Lancaster Newspapers.  And reporter Chad Umble and editor Cindy Stauffer posted the below photos of the LNP staff in Penn Square.  Stauffer posted a link on her Twitter account to the bottom photo on Instagram with the caption:
#LNP fire? Staff fills Penn Square
In the top photo, Umble identified reporter Ryan Mellon intently listening to the police/fire scanner.
Do you notice anything about the LNP staff filling Penn Square?

    1. looks like a Caucasian Yuppie convention!!!

    2. 😛 Does it ever! I tried to link in the article to Stauffer’s Instagram photo because it’s much clearer. Let me try again. If that doesn’t work – follow the link to her Twitter account and click on her October 23rd post that says “#LNP fire?” (I am terrible at Twitter and Instagram 🙁 🙂 ) Oh, and then click on your “back” button to return here if desired!

    3. The non white reporters, photographers, and editors are probably just standing out of frame because we can’t see them in the photo?

    4. Proof that they have access (maybe even ownership) to a scanner ! If they listen to Lancaster City Police why is there never any news?? An hour listening will fill the paper with what’s happening.

    5. They were probably still inside fighting the fire!!

Evidently Kirkpatrick’s typewriter ribbon overheated from all the self-love babble about the new and improved LNP!!

    6. Fire alarm at a Scandinavian embassy?

    7. I didn’t know there was a Dockers convention in town?

    8. OMG! M. Steven Weaver is also on the Board of the Lancaster City Police Foundation:

    9. Isn’t the police foundation also a funding source for the safety coalition cameras?

    10. This is all so intertwined and inbred it’s unbelievable. The Steinman Foundation is listed as a “private donor” along with the Lancaster City Alliance, the Lancaster City Police and the City of Lancaster and, of course, High Industries!

    11. Oh, and on the LCSC partners list is “EHD,” that is Engle, Hambright & Davies and they are the insurance agent for the city’s insurance policies – making huge bucks!

    12. You are right! I’m not sure if it’s the Lancaster City Police or the Foundation but this is on their testimonial page:

“The video safety cameras in Downtown Lancaster, operated by the Lancaster Community Safety Coalition, have proven to be an important addition to our city’s crime prevention efforts – and the Lancaster Police Foundation supports their continued use. On numerous occasions, the Lancaster City Bureau of Police have utilized the extra “eyes on the street” for rapid mobilization, incident prevention, and as important evidence in the successful conviction of criminals.”
      Lancaster Police Foundation

    13. Yeah. Very helpful in identifying those poor homeless folks taking a leak in Lnacaster Square. Those cameras generated a live fire opportunity for the police. Priceless.

    14. We need to get 60 Minutes involved to uncover and report just what the real politics of Lancaster City looks like. City Council may be very diverse in it’s make-up, but we all know who REALlY runs Lancaster City, and what that power looks like.

    15. Open the show with Mayor Dick’s famous pronouncement how “Frankly, the quality of life in Lancaster continues to improve!”

    16. I’d love to see program like 60 Minutes expose this banana republic city and county for what it is. How do we get them here?

    17. Frank, you’ll only get them here if photos surface of one of the top officials in a compromising sexual situation. America is filled with banana republic cities and towns like Lancaster. And as you go south, the numbers increase. People in America need a sexual or religious “outrage” to think that something is rotten in the state of Denmark as they say. This story is too sterile, too convoluted, too inbred, too longstanding, and too common all over the place. Unfortunately.

    18. And here I thought Mayor Dick said that Lancaster was “authentic”!!

Darn….we’re evidently nothing more than copycats!!!

And we’re not even good at that!!
