  • * UPDATED – A TERRIBLE, LYING START…

    * I’m in shock. The only thing I know about Cassidy is that she did write on a lot of “women’s issues” – like today’s front-page piece on college rape. But to write that editorial and to have a guest columnist write about domestic violence knowing full well that the Lancaster Police Chief’s ex-wife has written a book alleging he beat her for years and LNP has never once mentioned the fact is beyond all comprehension.  It is a direct blow to the face of every man and woman living in Lancaster County and inconceivable to any real journalist.
She just showed her true colors and it’s just more of the same unbelievable crap and lies from LNP. It is total deception and it is absolutely disgusting!

[Editor’s note: I just posted this in the comments and I am also moving it here as today’s update.  I just can’t take any more of these blatant, disgusting lies.  How do these people live with themselves?  I have run out of time and will have today’s promised story tomorrow.]

    BY SUZANNE CASSIDY!

    Cassidy                   rosa

We need to see domestic violence for the horrible and insidious crime that it is. And we need to hold abusers — and those who enable abusers — accountable for their crimes.
Domestic violence is inflicted on the young, the middle-aged, the elderly. It is inflicted on the rich, the poor, the middle class. It is inflicted on those of all races and religions.
And it will be happening even as you settle in to watch football this afternoon.
Just ask any of the estimated 10,000 victims of domestic violence in our community alone.
From today’s Sunday News editorial by Suzanne Cassidy, “EDITORIAL: No video needed to convey horror of domestic violence,” (click here).
This past Wednesday, the Philadelphia Daily News ran a huge story on page three on domestic violence among police officers and the photo and storyline began with Rosa Torres-Sadler, the ex-wife of Lancaster Police Chief Keith Sadler, who has written a book stating he beat her for years and made her partially blind (click here).  And for over two years the Lancaster Newspapers have intently and purposely covered-up this fact and withheld this vital information from the public that they absolutely need to know.
And under their new “Editorial Page Editor” they did it again today.  You are a liar and a disgrace to those 10,000 victims of domestic violence, Suzanne Cassidy!
Cassidy should not even call herself a journalist!  The first core principle of journalism from the PEW Research Group is (click here):
    1. Journalism’s first obligation is to the truth.
        And the second is:
    2. Its first loyalty is to citizens.
You have failed at both of these, Suzanne Cassidy!  What an absolute disgrace!

    1. LNP continues to lower the bar. They are such hypocrites. Unworthy of our time, advertising or subscriptions.

    2. I’m in shock. 3. We will aim to be on the side, always, of Lancaster County residents, who are politically, religiously and racially diverse.

From her column today about the editorial changes. She just proved this to be a total and absolute lie!

    4. Lancaster Newspapers president John A. Kirkpatrick III, executive editor Barbara Hough Roda and editorial page editor Suzanne Cassidy will take your questions and discuss the changes here at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Kirkpatrick is clueless and must have lived in a white, elite, insulated bubble for years! Remember this from only a couple of months ago?

      “CONTEXT OF ‘N-WORD’
      CANNOT BE IGNORED”
The headline on a Letter to the Editor in today’s paper by Rev. Edward M. Bailey of the Bethel AME Church and signed by 78 members of the church (click here).
Unbelievable! So the new President of the Lancaster Newspapers, John Kirkpatrick III, thinks the “N-word” can be used in a good way; even in an “affectionate” way. Why am I not surprised? Absolutely disgusted – but not surprised.
If LNP had a minority editor or reporter, Kirkpatrick could ask them what they think about the “N-word.” But of course, LNP doesn’t have a single minority on their editorial staff. As the Rev. Bailey suggests: why doesn’t Kirkpatrick ask President Obama what he thinks of the word? Or maybe Kirkpatrick could stay local and ask Ron Martin of WGAL what he thinks of the word?
Absolutely unbelievable! Run this racist newspaper company out of town!

    5. Did put a reply on your link see how long it stays up.

    6. The English connection! Brilliant! 🙂

    7. “We will aim to be on the side, always, of Lancaster County residents…”

…as long as we can hold them hostage over our (PSP) money making Hotel, and their (taxpayers) money draining Convention Center.

      HeeHeeHee

    8. She completely lived up to my expectation of this latest endeavor. LNP is just there, no more,no less.

    9. They do have lost and lots of coupons. They just don’t make a big deal of it anymore. Kind of embarrassing when coupons is the big selling point of an alleged news paper.

    10. Looks like they took galty’s comment down.
