“DO NOT DO ANYTHING RASH!”
Posted on February 2nd, 2013 13 commentsDANGEROUS GRANDSTANDING
BY DA CRAIG STEDMAN!We do have the warrant for his arrest for these charges. He is not in custody. He has not been in contact with us. We have attempted to reach out to him. His whereabouts are unknown to us at this point in time. We encourage him to turn himself in. At this point, for the good of everybody, he is presumed innocent and he will obviously be treated fairly by us and in the justice system as well. I would caution that citizens…that from our understanding… he does have access to firearms. I do not want anybody to try to take him into custody and apprehend him yourself. I would take a special note to the family members of the four lost loved ones that I just mentioned. Emotions are certainly, I am sure, running high for you at this point in time due to the actions…and disgusting actions… of Mr. Siar. Do not do anything rash. Do not try to take justice into your hands and compound matters although I can understand the human temptation to do that. We do not want this to go any further than it is. It needs to end now and Mr. Siar if you are watching this you need to end this and come in and answer for what you’ve done. Associates and friends and family members of him, if you know where he is, if you’re in contact with him we urge you to urge him to turn himself in.From the video of DA Craig Stedman’s press conference.(click here).I don’t know what the DA thought he was doing. I don’t know if he was trying to prove Lancaster County is tough on crime or what. But what a dangerous and ridiculous game to play.Mr. Siar was at the WGAL studios at the time the press conference was originally scheduled and he was on the phone with LNP reporters that day as well. I don’t know how hard you tried to find him, Mr. Stedman, but it doesn’t sound like he was hiding from you or running. Your comments are entirely out of line and dangerous.[Editor's Note: I will come back to yesterday's topic briefly tomorrow before the big game as there are two very important points I want to make: one to Ms. Luciano and one to Mr. Harper.]13 responses to ““DO NOT DO ANYTHING RASH!””

Why are his comments out of line and dangerous?

Whose comments, FWIW?

I’m sorry, FWIW, I was thinking of the last thread!
Did Stedman have any indication anyone was planning to do this (take “justice into their own hands”)? The DA made emotions run high! He made it seem this owner was out there walking the streets with a gun in his hand! Did the DA have anything to back that up? The owner was at WGAL doing an interview. These are not good detectives if they could not find him and the DA was adding fuel to the fire and endangering Mr. Siar’s life. Yes, I am serious!

When I say the DA was adding fuel to the fire I mean his “I can understand the human temptation to do that.” Did any one of these family members indicate they were intending to do that and if so, how? Drive to the funeral home? Track him down at a bar? Track him down at his home? Did they say they would do that (and I’m sure the DA’s office had the funeral home and his home covered!)

I think you’re reading too much into it. I think it’s a plea to people’s sensibilities. This is a despicable crime and people are likely angry. He’s only telling them to call the police and not to apprehend them himself. If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t he asked what people should do if they run into him?
-
I don’t recall anyone asking anything about what people should do if they run into him out of the blue but I would have to listen again. Murder is a much more “despicable” crime and yet the Lancaster Police put absolutely no warning on this one: http://www.lancasterpolice.com/news/press-releases/shooting-homicide-suspect-update/
Talk about armed and dangerous and people who might want to get revenge…Edited to add – although it’s hard to classify some of these things as more “despicable” than another.
-
I put a warning on my site: Although the police website does not state it, it seems obvious that Harris may be armed and extremely dangerous and you should dial 911 immediately if you see him and let the police handle it from there.
-
I think it’s pretty obvious that a murderer could be armed and dangerous, there really isn’t much of a need to put out a warning… it’s generally implied.
A crime such as this type of crime causes more rage than murder, believe it or not. People don’t care about murders anymore unless it’s someone they know.
Messing with the dead brings on a whole range of religious and social implications, especially in this county. People who see this guy may actually believe they can take him, as opposed to taking on a murderer.
But whatever, this guy is a piece of crap. I hope he goes to jail forever. Don’t really what the DA said.

Okay, FWIW, but this man is entitled to a defense and there does seem to be something with the coroner. Must read again…
-
On that note of you being right, FWIW, looks like former District Judge Kelly Ballentine will not be doing that much jail time.
-
Yeah, I didn’t think she would. What a crook she is. And she didn’t intend to defraud anyone (from the article, in her words)? How about the taxpayers. It’s amazing to me that she gets off the hook so easily. I recall a case of a lady who stole a couple hundred bucks from a fire company, she did six months. I wish I had such political influence, I have some tickets I would like erase from my driving record.
-
Did you see the big arrest in Philly of traffic judges? I’m not defending Ballentine (well, maybe a little!), but she didn’t steal money and she didn’t fix other people’s tickets. She made a very, very stupid decision and fixed three of her own tickets and yes, I think there should be consequences. But as I said before – check out what this thief in a DJ’s office got: http://lancasteronline.com/article/local/760444_Former-clerk-in-Lancaster-district-justice-s-office-jailed-for-stealing-money-from-fines.html

They found 4 bodies in that funeral home.He made a point of blaming everyone he could. He then said he bent over backwards for the family of the 2 yr old who was beat to death. He gave them a casket but couldn’t be bothered to place her tiny body in it OMG….what a piece of human shit.He deserves nothing more then lots of jail time.Thank goodness it wasn’t my family or my best friend who passed away in oct.Steadman could of said whatever.I know her family and friends would of hunted his a## down.I’m so grateful they didn’t use his services, if you can say sitting in a cardboard box in the basement is a service. Unreal!.I’m shocked at the greed of ppl.Immoral bastard.
