*** Pete Mekeel, the Editor of the New Era, repeatedly tells us he is blind in his columns. That is clearly evident today in his disgusting editorial, “Ex-teacher pays dearly for crimes,” (click here). If he is this blind, he needs to resign immediately. It’s Friday, so I’ll stop there and come back in much greater detail tomorrow.

Justice requires something called “consistency,” even if it’s just the way a home plate umpire calls balls and strikes the same way for both teams in baseball. This judge’s range of penalties is so freeking inconsistent that it requires some sort of judicial review soon if the court system in Lancaster County is not to be held in contempt.
This comment in today from “barryinwinnipeg.” Thank you – you nailed it. I am so stunned, I need time to absorb and research this. I think it’s safe to assume her attorney, Merrill Spahn, will file a Post-Sentence Motion. Barry’s suggestion of a judicial review is excellent and must be performed. This is simply outrageous and I am sickened to my core by her sentence.20 TO 40 YEARS!

So what did Reinaker really do while he was Preate’s boy? And what did he tell the grand jury? Was it the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth…..or not?
