    DARTS, PLEASE!

      * I published the below article over a year ago on September 28, 2011 (click here and please read the comment below it).  I am still in shock over the recent sentences of disgraced Judge Dennis Reinaker and the Lancaster Newspaper’s editorials, or in several cases, the lack thereof.  As a result, I have some type of writer’s block!  Maybe I’ll spend the afternoon throwing darts at Reinaker’s photograph!  We’ll see if it works!

    PAY IT AGAIN!

    Michelle Mellinger

But, what about the 82 alleged victims whose dockets now read “still owed?”
“I was thinking about this. Basically we’re going to have to give these people credit,” Madenspacher said.
…”It’s a problem that we’re going to have to deal with,” Lancaster County President Judge Joseph Madenspacher said on Tuesday. “Realistically, we can’t require them to pay again now, can we?”
From today’s story, “Court theft case causes a fine mess,” (click here).
Do we have some smart Judges in Lancaster County or what? I say make them pay the fine again! Hell, maybe we could make them pay three or four times!

Let’s all remember that Michelle Mellinger, the clerk who stole the money over the course of five years, is “remorseful,” hasn’t spent a second in jail, didn’t pay a cent of bail money and is home waiting on a plea-bargain from the D.A.’s office. Isn’t that special?

     THREE MONTHS!

That’s it for the lives she ruined? And the same judge gave a woman 20 years for having sex with two young men????
And gave probation to an amish child molester???
The first comment on Lancaster Online under this story (click here).

Three months!  Three months in Lancaster County Prison and six months of “house arrest?”  What is wrong with this Judge and these newspapers?  Is this a joke?  This is disgusting!
Remove this Judge and run these papers out of town!
    Please check back later today.

    1. Is this judge on drugs?. Damn his verdicts are so all over the map. A man lost his child, another went to jail. What the hell is wrong with this stupid judge? Her only reason for stealing the money was that her old man left her. That happens everyday. Get a second job, move, but to take advantage of people paying fines is an all time low.S he should do all the time in jail. Then some more time at Camp Hill.

    2. And what gets me is the Lancaster Newspapers covering for this crooked judge! A huge headline that she was “jailed.”
THREE MONTHS! ONLY THREE MONTHS IN LANCASTER COUNTY PRISON! OMG!!! You want to bet she’s home for Christmas?

    3. Have you seen the report of the murder of a six week old boy in Columbia? Apparently the police went there for something else and found the body.

They are saying that the parents are “people of interest.” And the last I read, no arrest has been made.

Good Lord. What the heck is going on in Lancaster county??

    4. Ed, outta Ephrata

I hope she used some of that money to sign up for Weight Watchers,,,,course a steady diet of prison food will help one lose weight also.

    5. I think in this case your blaming the wrong person. This is a guilty plea, not a trial. She and the district attorney’s office agreed that she plead guilty and to the sentence, which is probably based on her gravity score and state guidelines. It says the “judge ordered,” but it’s more like the judge agreed. 9-23 months is a standard first time offense for theft. I’ve seen it dozens of time in the paper.

    6. I’m with you, Becky, regarding this judge.

    7. This is huh?’s comment from the September 28, 2011 article mentioned in the update. Prophetic or what?

Why the HELL don’t reporters take the opportunity to ask WHY THE HELL hasn’t this woman at least been put in jail until she could make bail???

Why the HELL doesn’t Brett Hambright have the guts to say to Madenspacher, “This sounds, from what you’ve said, like it is going to cost the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars more in both confused court payments and hours and hours of investigations to get all of this ironed out. Why are cardboard thieves held for 100,000 dollars bail while this woman is released on her own “reputation.” I want to HEAR what a judge has to say about that.

You can bet your boots that there are people who are going to be irreparably damaged because she pocketed their money and now they are going to have to jump through all kinds of hoops and red tape and other mind numbing “please hold” hours of getting their infractions straightened out.

    8. Regarding my comment under the earlier article, I hate it when I’m right in these kinds of situations but then again, it doesn’t surprise me that I was right.

Very sad for the victims of this woman all the way around. Unfortunately I could see it coming all the way down the track.
