Police in Lancaster are investigating a Friday night shooting.
Officers say the victim was shot in the leg on the 900 block of South Duke Street around 12:30 a.m. The victim was treated at the hospital and released.

This story went up on WGAL very early Saturday morning. The Lancaster Newspapers have never mentioned it. But, believe it or not, this morning their lead story on page B-1 (not yet online) has the headline, “Targeted city crime area working.”
It’s absolute malarkey!

That story only pertains to a very very small section of the city. According to the State Police’s Uniformed Crime Reporting system, aggravated assaults and robberies are up in the city in 2011 while murders are the same and rapes are down. Also, I’d like to comment on the 29 drug dealers who were mentioned in the article as “somehow or another, no longer dealing.” I can guarantee 150% that they were quickly replaced by somebody else and they simply moved a couple blocks away from the targeted area. Drug dealers have been moving in this cycle since there has been drug dealing.

Unless it’s a Mud Sale or a horse and buggy accident, LNP doesn’t cover it.

They actually got the Friday shooting up late this morning! I’m coming back to it this afternoon.
