NO, THEY AREN’T!
CRIME REPORTS DOWN
The Uniform Crime Report shows a slight drop in the total number of crimes reported in the county and state between 2010 and 2011, it was reported Wednesday, but a small increase in major crimes reported in the county in recent years.
From today’s Sunday News, Page B-1, CATCHING UP ON THE NEWS.”
This story was already debunked when it ran this week! It’s a deceptive headline (again!) and there is no mention of “clearance rates,” crimes actually being solved and arrests made!
The Lancaster Newspapers failure to inform the public of the dismal job the Lancaster City Police are doing – the unsolved murders and major unsolved crimes – is unconscionable and dangerous to the public they are supposed to serve.
There will be more later this week. Today, and for the next several days, all eyes and ears are on Sandy. This site will keep going as long as the electricity holds! The Lancaster Newspapers should do their part and take down their paywall for this very serious weather event.
I will post again after the Eagles game. Please be safe out there!3 responses to “** *** BREAKING NEWS *** UPDATED – DECEPTIVE AND THEY KNOW IT!”

What makes the Lancaster City Police Department’s low clearance especially sad is the fact that they are protecting America’s most watched city. The LCSC camera’s have helped solve less than 1% of violent crimes since their induction. PATHETIC. Why are my tax dollars going toward their maintenance and operation if they have been proven to be so ineffective? The mayor promised that city tax dollars would never be spent on them and only private donations would fund the cameras. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that a criminal defense attorney went back on his word and/or flat out lied!!!!!

Excellent point, kmb!

I agree with the comments regarding the cameras but what bothers me about this post is the comment regarding criminal defense attorney’s. I am not an attorney and I do not have any family or friends that are. Why do some people look at criminal defense attorney’s as crooked, backhanded, members of the criminal justice system? Are you suggesting we do away with criminal defense attorneys and just assume that every prosecution brought by the police is valid? Criminal defense attorneys are paramount in the justice system and are needed to protect the rights of their clients. Many seem to forget that criminal defendants have rights and are presumed innocent and even more so, they might actually be free of guilt.
