    A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY

I will keep this very short.  As part of my piece this afternoon on unsolved crimes, I was going to include the horrific, unsolved August 3, 2012 arson fire in the apartment building at 516 E. Chestnut Street.
WGAL-TV did an interview with the owner of the building several days after the fire and he basically stated that he knew who set the fire that displaced 27 people, left a man in critical condition and destroyed his building. (click here).  The owner’s name was Michael Mastros and he and his wife owned a number of properties in Lancaster.  I tried to contact him several months ago.
I was shocked to learn this afternoon that it was he, and his wife Ellen, who died in the terrible car crash on Route 23 in Caernarvon Township yesterday.  My condolences to their family and friends.
