    GRAY LOSES HIS NOODLE!

Well, it’s Friday and the big news in Lancaster is that Mayor Gray lunched at the Noodle King (click here for their Facebook page)! Let the noodle hysteria begin!
        Some notes:
—- Are those styrofoam cups? Are they? Horrors! And what’s in them? I certainly hope it’s not some sugar laden drink. The Mayor of New York City will not be happy about this, Dick!
—- Your lunch partner is a slob! He left leaves all over the table! What’s wrong with him? He couldn’t get them into his bowl?
—- Your chopstick skills are pathetic. At that rate, it will take you two hours to finish that bowl – all on the taxpayer’s dime!
—- Did you tell the owner that the Convention Center was your wife’s idea? You need to stop that, Dick!
On a more serious note, this comment came in several days ago and the writer raises excellent questions. There will be more on where City Council stands next week. Have a good Friday and please check back tomorrow!

I am wondering if Gray’s (Mayor in Name Only) ego is so huge that he can’t accept that he made a mistake hiring Sadler. Where is City Council on all of this? They are really the representatives of the people. Gray represents the wealthy property owners, developers and, because of his wife, the art community. I don’t think he gives a damn about the families that are struggling to put food on their tables every day. And these are the same people that are the victims of the crimes you are highlighting. Do you know if the Mayor’s office and the Police department have come to an agreement that they are not going to expend significant resources solving crimes involving minorities and lower income people?

    1. Oh dear, I just keep laughing!!!

    2. That’s Randy Patterson sitting with him, Lancaster City Director of Economic Development & Neighborhood Revitalization.

Noodle King does have very good soup.

    3. Anonymous – thanks! Randy has a major problem with leaves but he is using a spoon so I can’t criticize him too much! I gather their soup is good! The owner’s posts on Facebook are a hoot! :P

    4. I concur; Gray’s tablemate is the “architect”, Randy Patterson. Architect of what, why the Gray Plan to fix the CC of course. Not to be outdone by Scott Martin, Rick Gray has dispatched his underlings and handlers to come up with something to compete and the architect has done just that. In fact, I understand that he has been out selling the plan around town and maybe this lunch was to provide Rick with an update on how it is being received. I doubt this economic development guru is getting much love from the hoteliers in town; the Gray plan is basically a hotel tax increase. But just like the Martin Plan, Gray tries to involve others. What does the City add to the pot, they “ask” RACL to take money they are already collecting and divert it to marketing the CC. Actual dollar cost to the City, ZERO, unless you want to allocate a cost of the letter, email or phone call to ask a question. How about PSP? Martin would like to see them add $200,000+ per year in additional F&B commissions ($1 million+ over 5 years). Gray wants PSP to forgive a debt, or at least a “portion” of a debt, owed to them by the LCCCA. The LCCCA cannot pay its bond debt, how can they pay PSP, and by the way, exactly why do they owe PSP in the first place…kickback on allowing them to take the LCCCA to the cleaners? Actual dollar cost to PSP, ZERO. Instead of kicking in $1,000,000+, they relieve a debt that they cannot collect anyway. The architect must have really thought long and hard to come up with that one. Sounds like shared sacrifice all around…could Randy Patterson really be Carl Rove in disguise?

    5. Yet when Randy Patterson was asked to explain Gray’s “plan” to help fund the convention center debt the other day, he struggled to answer some of the questions. Randy can’t be blamed for this one. Brogan, perhaps? She is the REAL power behind the throne. Ask Pat about previous convention center agreements, and she will provide detailed answers.

This reminds me so much of Gray’s “smoke and mirrors” plan to fill a $20+ million construction funding gap, most of which simply never happened.

    6. You know, that staying behind closed dorrs for two weeks with the bigshots on the taxpayer’s tab to fill the gap still amazes me to this day. I watch the tape every now and again for a “chuckle.” I like the one or two million for “naming rights.” LOL! It would be funny if not so sad….

    7. Ooops! That was a solid two million for “naming rights.” My mistake! ;-) :P
