REVENGE, REALITY & DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!
Posted on September 29th, 2012 No commentsI PUNCH HER
DEAD IN THE FACE!Delia was still living with us and still dating Robert. One afternoon Delia was expecting a phone call from Robert. My friend from Camden had called and I asked Robert if he could give me five minutes and call back. I did tell Delia that Robert called and he was going to call back but this didn’t matter to her. She became infuriated, grabbed me by the arms and dug her fake nails into me. My reflexes took over and my arms pulled back; I punch(sic) her dead in the face!Dick, who was our best man of our wedding, was visiting and he grabbed me and I pulled away and I went into my bedroom. All they kept saying was “wait until Mark get’s(sic) home.” Mark arrived home and came into the bedroom to talk to me. I thought it was going to go smoothly but I was wrong. I was sitting on the floor listening to music, Mark walked into the bedroom, and he started yelling at me, he wanted to know if the ghetto in me was coming out. I said, “It has nothing to do with me being from the ghetto, it has to do with respect.” That is when it got physical. Mark kicked me while I was on the ground and grabbed me up off the floor. I could not believe what just happened; he knew he had promised me he would never put his hands on me again, but he did!Things were never the same after that incident. Delia knew that she could say and do whatever pleased her. I never dreamed the man I loved and married would hit me.I confided in him about my experiences in the past and I just wanted him to love and respect me. When Mark hit me for the first time, I knew this was going to be just the beginning of a lot pain. From Page 58 of “Abuse Hidden Behind the Badge.” “Delia” is Mark’s [Keith Sadler's] sister and one of the main charachters/topics in the book. This, according to Rosa Torres-Sadler, the author, is the first time “Mark” hits her. However, she says “again.” This would appear to be an editing error – but with so many errors in the book – it is hard to know for sure.I will wrap this up tomorrow!
