    OR IS HE GRAY?

Lancaster Mayor Rick Gray this morning said he believes Sadler is Lancaster’s first black police chief.
“Philadelphia is a very diverse community, and that was part of the attraction to Lancaster,” said Sadler, whose wife is Puerto Rican. He said he was impressed with the diversity of Lancaster during the five visits he has made to the city in recent months.

    1. I would say more confused, in the history of his family and the upbringing Keith and his sister were taught to show hatred towards his own African American brothers and sisters.

I should know, I saw this first hand by his grandmother.

    2. I always said he looks hispanic to me. I find it very sad for him as was stated in Rosaura’s book that his family never allowed their true heritage to be acknowledged and raised their children to be ashamed of who they were.

    3. You are so right Paula, as I also shared in the book, Keith and his sister were raised in a organization called Jack and Jill, not the ice cream…..This organization was only meant for light skinned blacks. Keith’s grandmother was one of the original founders. This organization was created back in 1938…I never understood any of this.

    4. Regardless of whether he is brown, black, yellow or white, there is no place for a wife Beater in law enforcement….and especially not in a leadership position. The most intriguing issue of all is what Gray knew and, if he did know, why he kept this a secret from those who needed and deserved to also know. Unless the current city council members are complete puppets, I would think they’d be demanding an investigation, the suspension of Sadler until the investigation is completed and ultimately, the resignation of Gray.

    5. May I be a little devil’s advocate here and I don’t for sure want to offend anyone but since he was never arrested or charged with a crime, how could he be denied a job? Again I believe Rosaura but again if we go a bit further, when someone is vetted for a job, criminal background check is done. If there is no criminal record, really anyone could say anything disparaging about anyone to stop them from getting a job.

I find it sad Rosaura never got justice. However with nothing on his permanent record, how is an employer to know and with no arrest, can the accusations of someone be used against them when interviewing for a job legally I mean. I am just asking as I am curious girl. I love Rosa dearly. I wish she could have gotten justice.

    6. Dose it matter, thank you.

    7. Paula –

5.Candidate must successfully pass an extensive background investigation. Conviction of a Felony WILL bar appointment; a Misdemeanor MAY bar appointment. http://www.lancasterpolice.com/careers/officer/

I have heaard that to be considered for a police officer position, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. are interviewed extensively. This man was going for CHIEF and no one talked to his first wife of over 20 years? A PFA was filed. That is enough to stop the process right there. The background check is not only for criminal activity, it is also for charachter and personal responsibility as well. If someone had (and they should have!) talked to Rosa, her family, her friends and her neighbors he would have never gotten the job and he SHOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN THE JOB!

    8. There was a order and I dropped it, to keep a roof over my and my daughter’s head….No one called me in regards to his history of Domestic Violence. I sent a letter to Mayor Street and city council. They knew! Keith was afraid that someone from Lancaster would contact me, he shared this with our daughter.

    9. I’m sure many wonder why I do not mention Anthony Suber (Retired PA State Trooper), is not mentioned as much as Keith….Anthony retired in 2008, Google him and you find nothing…He is no longer in law enforcement…The jury may have not find him liable for my injuries but…My attorney was able to show, he did dragged me with the State Police Car and left me in the middle of the road; bleeding and begging for help.

Anyone who holds the title LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, should not have any history of any abuse!

    10. I agree but does your husband have anything on his record as an abuser? Look I am not trying to be over zealous here but again your neighbors and his friends were probably afraid to talk against him. OJ Simpson was a hero after being accused multiple times of abusing Nicole. But official charges were never filed and even when he pled no lo to the NEw Years Eve incident his career continued to thrive.

It is unfortunate but one must be arrested and convicted in order to have the accusations stick and stop them from getting a job.

Otherwise anyone who has a beef with a potential employee can say horrible things about them and ruin their life. If the PFA was dropped than the LAncaster Police Force never saw it.

Again it is unfortunate and I have been verbally threatened by someone in my husbands past and when i tried to get a PFA the police said she had to physially come to my home and physically threaten me before i could do anything. It is terrible but for some reason until they harm you, in most states law enforcement can do nothing.

    11. Paula, did you not read my previous comment? This is nonsense! The vetting of Keith Sadler was improperly handled. He has no business being a police officer let alone a chief!

    12. Paula, I agree with Becky….They knew of the history of Domestic Violence….I did drop the charges. The protection order is on record…No he was not prosecuted…Drew Peterson had a history and they finally got him.

      Thank you for the input…
