    SECURE AREA?

The man falling is on video. We got a chance to see it, but police are not releasing it to the public. The man fell in a secure area and they don’t want it broadcasted.
…Police say it’s pretty common that they bring in drunken people so they can sober up. This is a very rare instance where someone got hurt inside the police station.
Chris Papst of CBS 21, “UPDATE: Older man suffers serious injury after freak accident at police station,” (click here).
Is this a military base or is it the Lancaster Police Station? Why can Papst see it but we can’t? Does he have special police clearance or something? There will be more on this and also the murder of Erma Kaylor later today.

Good morning Becky, I’ve followed your website since the Roseboro case. FYI, on the Investigation Discovery channel there is a new series that starts this Saturday night at 10:00 pm called Deadly Affairs. The first episode is about Mike Roseboro. I hadn’t seen you mention it so I didn’t know if you were aware of it.
    Please check back later today.

    1. Does anyone have any thoughts on the use of “broadcasted?” It sounds very wrong but apparently it’s one of those “strong verbs” that are changing…

      http://www.dailywritingtips.com/broadcast-vs-broadcasted-as-past-form/

    2. Well, silly me! I need more coffee. They are talking about the past tense and it is not being used that way. I think it is very wrong!

    3. If Papst doesn’t know grammar, why does he get to see it and no one else can?

    4. Not that we will get to see the tape..but we could go out tonight get half drunk walk around town maybe stop at the hookah lounge then we can get busted for public drunkenness and see the secure area…just a thought..What do you think?.

    5. But…will they have to kill us if we see the secure area? :-(

    6. Why do only criminals and drunk people get to see the secure area? Then the criminals know more than we do?

    7. Lol…..silly cause the drunks can’t remember.

    8. Silly me! :P

    9. Gosh your going to have to find a recent criminal to interview if you want to know about the secure area. You’ll have to put something like…WANTED…a not too bad criminal who can remember what the secure booking area looks like and what the hell they do there that’s so damn secret.

    10. :P I wonder if Papst has actually seen the secure area or if he only saw it on the tape? Actually, he says “we,” so his cameraman must have seen it as well! Why can his cameraman/woman see the tape and we can’t? :-(

    11. Ok, on a not so funny note didn’t tax payer dollars build the new donut I mean cop shop.So doesn’t everyone have the right to see what tax dollars pay for?.

    12. Nope! Only the criminals! This is America, after all!

    13. Cause he and the camera man probally sat in some comfy little office with todd had some donuts and signed secret confidential papers that swore if they told they’d end up in the secure area. Then cbs21 would of had their mug shots on the news. You must need more coffee today.I know you can figure this bullshit out.Still think we should visit tonight.I bet on a friday night we’ll see all kinds of shit down there. If they think we’re real drunk we could probally spend the night Sleepover….Hell yeah!

    14. Sheesh. Not allowing publication of photographs or video of the secure area of the police station is simply so criminals, terrorists, or activists can’t use the photos to determine the layout and features of that area of the building for nefarious purposes.

    15. It seems criminals (and Chris Papst) are the only ones who know the layout??????

    16. I believe that I heard that the police “found” another murder victim in Lancaster city.

    17. Yes, it certainly seems that way:

      9.07.12 Death Investigation

7 September 2012 by Lt. Jarrad Berkihiser

Approximately 10:30PM, 06 Sep 2012, Patrol Officers were dispatched to a person down in the 1st Blk Wise Ave. near Lafayette St. While officers were responding County-Wide dispatchers upgraded the call to a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival officers located a male subject in his 20’s laying in the street, near parked cars with what appeared to be a head injury. Ambulance personnel determined that the subject was deceased.

Based on this information a crime scene was established and detectives began an investigation and the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office was notified. The identity of the deceased is not being released until after an autopsy is conducted and family members are notified.

Based on the investigation at this point there is no need for the public to be concerned for their safety.

    18. Outstanding coverage. I wanted to share the news that so many of us are so happy with. As we all know Drew Peterson was found guilty. I could not help but…emphasis on how the defense called Kathleen Salvio bitter :( . Many officers have abused there power. I never received justice but….I pray for those in Lancaster who have fallen victim receive justice. Continue your awesome work Becky!

    19. WGAL is reporting the coroner says self=inflicted gun shot wound.

    20. I’m taking a break this afternoon! Have a great Friday night!
