FOUR MONTHS TODAY!
Posted on September 16th, 2012 11 commentsTHE BUCK
HAS STOPPED!
And as the leader of an organization like this, the buck stops at my desk. For all the successes, it goes for part of the entire team. For anything that doesn’t go right, then the only person that takes responsibility for that is the leader and you have to be willing to acknowledge that.
Police Chief Keith Sadler on video as part of the April 2, 2008 LNP article, “New city chief was easy pick,” (click here).
The buck has stopped, Chief Sadler. It’s been four months to the day since 83-year-old Erma Kaylor was brutally stabbed to death in her home. Your organization has failed to protect the public and take a vicious killer off the street. Erma’s family, friends and neighbors have no closure and live in fear.
And you failed to request outside help when it became obvious your detectives were not competent to solve this horrific murder.
The buck has stopped right smack at your desk, Chief Sadler. Take responsibility and resign.11 responses to “FOUR MONTHS TODAY!”

I pray for justice for this family….It’s the worse feeling losing a loved one to murder. God bless her and her family.

The news needs to run a story about all the unsolved murders around here and ask for anyone who knows anything about these murders come forward . Who would want anything to with someone who could murder an 83 year old woman or anyone for that matter . I pray that all the victims and the families get the justice they deserve.

carol power, YOU would come forward if you had information about a killer. I assume you are a responsible, decent person who could never withold important information from the police. But, unfortunately, many other people can’t or won’t tell what they know. There’s the “no snitching” ethic and the consequences that go with being found out. Even if information takes a killer off the streets, a witness still has to deal with his friends and family who aren’t happy about that. There’s the fact that a witness may have his own potential legal issues and doesn’t want to come forward to the police. And then there are people who simply hate or distrust the police for whatever reason and aren’t going to do their job for them.
So, short of fabricating evidence, strongarming potential witnesses, or going way out on a limb to bring charges that won’t stick, what are the police supposed to do when no one will talk?

That’s crap almost all the time, hereshecomes! The people in the 200 block of West Vine Street came forward with all kinds of information and the police ignored it!

Becky, how do you know they “ignored” it? An arrest hasn’t been made, but how do you know they aren’t using it to build a case?
-
You answered your own question – NO ARREST HAS BEEN MADE! When you have DNA, the old “building a case” excuse flies out the window! Period!

About the DNA–do you have any proof beyond Sadler’s acting annoyed when you mentioned DNA that they actually have some belonging to the killer?

Read the search warrant on this site!

I did read the search warrant. Nothing says they actually found DNA. They were just asking for permission to collect and test it if they did. It’s mostly boilerplate stuff.
And then what, if they did find distinctive DNA of someone who was probably the killer? If that person’s DNA isn’t in a database somewhere, what are they going to do with it? And if they can’t find the former neighbor/possible suspect to get a DNA sample from him, even if they have probable cause to do so, then what?

They have DNA!

I have told on someone before and your right …I did pay the price and had to move because the ones I told on made my life hell. Now I tell with fake names and keep on telling till the police or crime stoppers does something about it. I have told the City of Lancaster police about many crimes this young man I knew committed before it was even in the paper and they sat on it till he did something more serious. It was frustrating! If I knew someone who killed someone, I would tell! Like I said, would anyone want to be around someone who could take a life. Didn’t Alex Kreider parents tell on their son? Could you eat a family dinner with someone even if it’s your own son who killed a nice family like the Haines. I couldn’t!
