    1. You're Not Going to Believe This

In an unbelieveable development, the video from the Lancaster City Police station that shows the 71 year old man being pushed, I mean falling, has been deleted. It seems the DVR took on a life of it’s own and somehow overwrote that, and only that, specific piece of footage.

    2. :-( They were very quick to say it was all caught on video so they need to produce the video and let us watch it. This is very simple!

    3. Question – would the actual “arrest” have been caught on video? I’m not sure what the capabilities of the Lancaster Police cars are with video. Are they equipped and when are they supposed to run the cameras?

    4. Custody Control Care

When someone is in the custody of the police, the police become corrections officers and are responsible for the care of that person. Of course the Lancaster PD spin machine will try to argue something else, but the fact that they had (according to their own release) a very intoxicated elderly individual, makes them responsible for what happened. I’d guess their insurance company is not happy about this and I’d guess their solicitor would have preferred that they’d not have released so many details. Bottom line for the victim and his family: back up the truck, you should have a load of money coming.

    5. Did anyone see a word about this in today’s paper? A follow-up about his condition? The Lancaster Newspapers will ignore this as they do all the unsolved murders and crimes and the Chief’s background. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

    7. Oh my, none of this surprises me. Sounds like Keith does not have things on the ball.

    8. It’s horrible! It’s unbelievable!

    9. Wow..what a strange turn of events! I posted on Saturday, Sept, 1, 2012, that I hope they had it all on video due to the nature of this poor man’s injury..and Shazaam..the tape has been deleted! Now who is going to believe the word of a 71 year old drunk man what happened at the police station? That’s if the fall didn’t erase that part of the subconscience! Shame, shame, shame on the Lancaster PD! Who’s in charge of this department? It sounds like somebody has some explaining to do!

    10. Nancy, no one has said the tape has been deleted. That was sarcasm if you were referring to earlier comments. I am requesting the video.

    11. Oh sorry…I requested it right after it happened…I don’t think the old man should have picked up to begin with, especially knowing where he lived!

    12. You’ve requested it? Great!!! Have you had a response?

    13. Everybody seems upset by the recent unsolved homicides(rightfully so) but nothing upsets me more than the case of Lydia Colon-Torres back in 2009. Not only have we never found her killer but her death was never ruled a homicide. Did this woman own a vehicle? If not, did she walk the whole way to the river to commit suicide. It’s funny how she goes missing and turns up dead DAYS after ending a romantic relationship and the amazing sleuths of the LPD have not yet pieced it together because the Diamantoni stated it as a possible suicide. I’m honestly believe the mayor on an election year had this woman’s death ruled in this manner to keep his crime stats down. There was also a child who died of traumatic injuries that year and the parents have only been charged with reckless endangerment and the death has still not been ruled homicide. Anything for the mayor’s crime stats I supose. Anyway, statistics aside. There has been 12 unsolved homicides since Sadler became Chief.

    14. This has NOT been ruled a suicide!!! This is under criminal investigation – still! I had someone ask me this weekend why she was not on my unsolved murders list – that is because her body was found in the river in Manor Township and the investigation is technically being handled through them rather than Lancaster City Police. I have it on excellent authority that she was killed prior to her body being put in the river. And no, she did not own a car.

    15. What other unsolved murders am I missing?

    16. Diamantoni stated because of past drug abuse, her case is a potential suicide. The other case is that of a child in I believe August 2009 who died of traumatic injuries and has never been ruled a homicide but parents were arrested for reckless endangerment instead. Sorry, but I do not remember the child’s name nor do I remember the parents names. I do remember the story in the newspaper sometime in 2011. I was angry at the time because the police only ruled it a suspicious death because they could pinpoint which parent committed the horrible act. The article was not very large either. If I had known your site had existed at the time, I would’ve provided more information.

    17. After a little research gthe child’s name was Sanayah Colon 4 months old. She lived with her mother on Winthrop Drive in the city in October of 2009 when she died. Her mother and boyfriend were charged with reckless endangerment but her death has only been ruled Suspicious but come on. She died in that city home and YES she was murdered. There is a website dedicated to justice for Sanayah. Should’ve done some research first then posted. Two unrelated female Colon who are denied justice and their loved ones must continue to suffer. This infant should be one of your top priorities involving the injustices bestowed upon lancaster city since mayor gray took office.

    18. Thanks. I’ll look into it.

    19. Countywise – there was this child’s death at two months old. The father was acquitted. So does that make it an unsolved murder or is it wiped from the books? http://lancasteronline.com/article/local/232934_Jury-finds-Johnson-not-guilty.html

    20. A homicide is a homicide regardless of if the victim’s family has found justice. This is the reason why I am beginning to despise Lancaster City and county. I am a friend of a cousin of Lydia Colon-Torres and anybody with any common sense knows she was killed in her home on Beaver Street and dumped in the river. The whole fact that her death was never officially ruled a homicide leaves me with many suspicions toward the coroner’s office.

    21. Poor 4 month old Sanayah Colon died after receiving 31 rib fractures, broken collarbone, fractured vertebrae, and a scarred liver. Her parents have only been charged with Endangering the welfare of a child. Her death has never been ruled a homicide. I guess in order to be charged with murder in this lousy city, you either have to confess or committ the act in front several witnesses. This is nothing short of an outrage and I am wondering how many other Sanayahs do we have across the city since her parents were not charged until almost two years after the incident and nothing was never reported in the papers until their arrest. The newspaper stated that no homicide charges were bought because police could not figure out which parent committed the offense. They even had the murderer behind bars and still did not charge him/her.

    25. WHY HAVEN’T BOTH PARENTS BEEN CHARGED WITH MURDER???? VERY GOOD CATCH, KMB!!!

    26. I feel with the above article, you have presented proof of an eleventh unsolved homicide since Sadler’s reign as chief. Just because the death has never been ruled an OFFICIAL homicide does not mean there was not a murder committed. Why has the police only charged the parents with Endangering the Welfare of a Child when there is clear proof the child was beaten to death? The child was in so much pain that she could not eat. It is my personal opinion that this is an outrage. One or two parents need murder charges bought against them. If I were to kill someone in the midst of a robbery and only be charged with simple assault does not take away from the fact that I killed someone. If I were not charged with murder then the case should be declared unsolved until I am charged. Please help this innocent child who was tortured receive justice because the LPD will not. You seem to be the only person who questions the Old boy network going on around here.

    27. kmb – I agree – BOTH parents should be charged with murder. I think this one is more on the District Attorney’s Office than the LPD, though. They’re the ones who ultimately decided on the charges. Will try to do a write-up shortly and I will follow these cases. Thanks.
