I am confused by your letter. You say a civil trial will begin in “your city” on April 9, but I can find no record of such a trial beginning in Lancaster or anywhere else. Please tell me more about the trail and its location. Also, you say your book includes details about your abuse by Lancaster Police Chief Keith Sadler. But the introductory matter for your book says all names were changed. So his name is not in the book, right? I need to know more about this before I can do anything. Please respond ASAP.

291-8781One of a number of emails between Jack Brubaker and Rosa Torres-Sadler in early April of this year, this one on April 2, 2012. He then emails her the street address for the Lancaster Newspaper office and Rosa over-nighted a copy of her book the next day, “Abuse Hidden Behind the Badge.”

The second page of her book, which you can see on Amazon.com, says in large print:
My married name was Rosaura Torres-Sadler.

Many true books have names changes. At the time her book was published, Keith Sadler had not been prosecuted or convicted of a crime. To use his name could have been considered slander and Rosaura was right to change the names. The fact that MR Sadler knows about the book and has never come out publicly to defend himself nor has any member of his family tells a lot in itself. If my husband were accused of abuse by his x-wife I would be writing letters and screaming from the roof tops his innocence yet what5 we get from the Sadlers is total silence. This silence to me speaks volumes.

Thank you Becky, Abuse of Power within so many Police Departments, newspaper, courts and in political….For years the media ignored what happened to me. Nothing will correct the damage that has been caused to my vision. I will not keep silent, I will continue to speak for those who are afraid to speak out!!

Jack Brubaker’s email is astonishing. Trial/trail is symptomatic of how much he gives a rip.
Should the public or any individuals have to twist the arm of the 4th Estate to do their job, i.e. investigative reporting. Jack can look up that big “i” word because it seems like a new concept to LNP staffers.

I have often thought about calling up the police station to see if Mr Sadler would like to give me as a blogger a comment, but I don;t want Rosa to get more flack from these people so I kept my blog away from using his name. Hey I would approach him to tell his story if he thinks he is being villified. However I don;t think he wants to revisit those days and of course Rosaura’s eyes are the truth. This woman can barely see. She did not do that to herself nor die she do it running into a door. Abuse is often hidden from even the closest of family. The worse thing the abuser does is isolate his victim and tell her no one will believe her or help her. Rosaura’s story is not so new, it is just she is strong enough to tell it! She does not care if it is prose or Shakespeare. She told her story raw and out there and I found her book amazing. Anyone who loves a woman in their life should give this book as a gift so that we can end this circle of violence.

Becky, the work you have done to bring to light of the injustice that has taken place in Lancaster, PA., is truly outstanding. The only words that come to mind is DYNAMIC!!! Paula, I am so grateful to you and Becky, for years I tried to and begged for help from those in Office here in Philadelphia but…Nothing. Writing my book and telling my story has set me free from my nightmares of the abuse….of the past. You have become the voices of those who have been ignored.
