Yes, Lt. Umstead, sir, but as the spokesperson I have a few questions for you.
We’re working around the clock, tirelessly, non-stop doing old fashioned police work. We will not rest until we catch the perpetrators. Is that enough for you Tom?

You know, solving crimes is like solving jigsaw puzzles – trying to get all the pieces to fit into the right places. It’s back breaking work, Tom. That’s why we’re trained professionals! Okay, Tom? You just quote me as saying that.
Listen, Lt. Umstead, may I remind you that you work for us? Now I want an update on last week’s arson fire.
Tom, I’ve never heard you like this! Was there a fire last week?
Yes, the apartment building fire at 516 E. Chestnut Street. Twenty-nine people lost their homes, a man is in critical condition. and the building is destroyed.
I do remember something about that, Tom.

Gee…I didn’t know that Todd Umstead was a Republican!! Tom Murse only has nasty things to say about GOP members.
Of course, most of the other ‘highlighted columnists’ (Larry Alexandar, everybody’s favorite…Gil ‘not so’ Smart, and Jeff Hawkes are all flaming liberals, so it would be difficult to find a moderate, let alone a conservative voice at LNP.

Rednek – no idea what Umstead’s political party is – but sure wouldn’t surprise me if he and every other detective (Jarrad Berihiser refers to it as a “Brotherhood”) are Republicans. Do you read the editorials everyday? Liberal slant? I think not. Certainly not in their non-coverage of everything involving the police.
