“Our readers have come to depend upon our judgment, taste, tone and discretion in publishing advertising to be admitted into their homes,” Miller said. “They select our newspapers because of these qualities and we believe we are obligated to uphold their selection by declining to publish advertising announcements and notices which, in our opinion, are not consistent with prevailing community standards.”
LNP CEO Harold (Chip) E. Miller Jr. in an article the Lancaster Newspapers seem to have “scrubbed” clean from their site, “PA newspaper refuses to run same sex wedding announcement.”
With the Chipster “resigning,” who’s going to tell us what the “prevailing community standards” are? Who will we look to for judgment, taste and the tone of our lives?
Horrors! Bye, Chip! I don’t usually use profanity on this site so I’ll just say good riddance you sicko!

Apparently one “prevailing community standard” the Chipster believes in is having a Chief of Police with a history of domestic violence! Good call, Chip and the Lancaster Newspapers!

Rosa, the arrogance of his statement simply amazes me everytime I read it. But that’s what the Lancaster Newspapers have done – try to control their readers – that is the power of the press – and it is so scary when it is abused as it is by the Lancaster Newspapers. Their blatant racism in hiring is enough to get them run out of town!
And the fact that a once “liberal” defense lawyer who is now the Mayor and thinks he can maintain a Chief of Police with a history of domestic violence (and he’s backed by the Lancaster Newspapers) is simply unbelievable. This is going to bite Lancaster hard!

A lot are watching what is taking place in Lancaster, PA. Many think I am the Bitter ex wife of Keith Sadler but….I am more then that! I have become the speaker of so many who are afraid, I am respect by many. I was bless to be found by you Becky. You are outstanding!!
