Some days you need good news and good people. That happened to me today.
This morning I received a phone call from Brandon. He said he found a personal item of a woman, googled her name and found my site.
It turns out that the owner is Clarissa Marie Arana, a name that caught my eye in a police log over a year ago as a 16-year-old missing person and I wrote two brief stories (click here).
I told him I did not know the outcome and to call the Providence Township Police. He said he had done that and they were having the State Police contact him.
I asked him to keep me informed and I came home to a voicemail several hours later and called him back. He said he did a little more digging and found her living not far from his home. He returned the item, said she is fine and no longer missing and I might want to update my stories.
I did that, thanked him and told him we need more people like him in this world.

I want a new look, Chase! Just give me until tomorrow, please!? I think people are in shock this morning. And I’ve seen some comments on Facebook that have my blood boiling. You know, this “social media” bullsh*t is getting on my nerves really badly today. I might have an explosive story this afternoon!

Your site is fine because you focus on the truth. As for gun control, we have it by the ton here in Canada but even that did not deter some nuts from opening fire in Toronto recently. My God, though, this news makes me sick. My prayers gow ith all the families and loved ones who have lost their own due tot his senseless tragedy.

Thanks, Barry! I think just a slightly more sophisticated look with maybe three main stories running? It would also allow me to separate “fun” stories from “serious/hard news” stories.
One of the tragedies coming out of the movie massacre is a young sports broadcaster who survived the killing in Toronto but was killed in the Colorado theater. Just so many sad stories. Such a senseless act. I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around it.

I like it fine as is, but I know it has given you some tech troubles, so if Chase (??) is willing to give it a new look, and it would save you tearing your hair out, go for it!
Is there a way you could be sure this guy just doesn’t want to sabotage the competition? (!)
