    PROFESSIONALISM &
    INTEGRITY? – 2

What are the police doing to arrest the killer of 83-year-old Erma Kaylor? Why haven’t they requested the assistance of the Lancaster County Detectives?
It’s been over two months since she was stabbed to death in her 235 W. Vine Street home on May 16th. Why won’t Chief Keith Sadler, Captain of Detectives Kent Switzer or Police Spokesperson Todd Umstead respond to my email (see “PROFESSIONALISM & INTEGRITY?” immediately below)?
Why won’t they answer a legitimate and extremely important question?
A fourth request was emailed this morning. The Mayor’s office was copied in.

Calls were placed to the Mayor Gray and Chief Sadler on Monday. They have not been returned. I will place new calls today.
We pay these men to serve and protect us! They work for us! What in the world is going on?

    1. To the Lancaster Newspapers – where are you? What a disgrace!

Journalism has an unusual capacity to serve as watchdog over those whose power and position most affect citizens. The Founders recognized this to be a rampart against despotism when they ensured an independent press; courts have affirmed it; citizens rely on it.

    2. WGAL, of course, is running a series on the Roseboro children. I think it’s interesting that this is currently the one comment under that story:

Ok WGAL enough about the Roseboro’s they are not the only family that lost a love one to murder. At least they got closure for the murder. There are so many out there left in the dark because of no closure.

I have requested that WGAL do an update on Erma Kaylor’s murder and I will continue to do so.

    3. BUT…one thing about the Roseboro murder…it involved a well known, prominent family…could that make a differance??? Sadly, far too often, that makes all the differance in the world!!!! :(

    4. Becky, journalism is also suppose to be unbiased.

    5. Yes, James, that’s why LNP has two editorial pages everyday! LOL!

    6. huh? – You’re obviously talking about the man at 46 N. Prince Street? Have they even stated it was a murder? Do they still want people to call the police with info? Where does this stand?

And what about the Friday morning stabbing at Dorwart and Manor where the man was in critical condition? How is he and have they made an arrest? Where are the updates?

    7. And James, may I remind you that former New Era Editor Ernie Schreiber called Commissioner Molly Henderson “the Angel of Death” because she would not support LNP’s convention center/hotel?
