  • RESIGN CHIEF SADLER! – 2

Posted on July 31st, 2012 Becky 35 comments

    RESIGN OR
    BE FIRED!

Who vetted Keith Sadler prior to his becoming the Lancaster Chief of Police? Who checked his background and prior marriage? Did he fail to mention his first wife or did whoever do the check make a terrible mistake?
Rosaura Torres Sadler was never contacted by anyone prior to her ex-husband becoming the Chief. Of course, if she had been contacted, he would never have been chosen for the position.
It is outrageous that a wife abuser is in his position and he needs to resign or Mayor Gray needs to fire him – today!

Please click here for an interesting video from Police Spokesperson Lt. Todd Umstead from March of this year talking about the number of domestic violence calls the Lancaster Police respond to in a year and over a weekend.  Why did he call the Lancaster Newspapers to make this video?  Did he know something?  There will be much more tomorrow.

why should this paper equel that he should resign or be fired?

    2. I trust your judgement, but are you sure you have all the facts? I read over what you posted and the links. I feel like something is missing. Having been through a divorce myself I have seen the above type document, and know for a fact that there are other court papers before this one. I think it would be helpful to get the other court papers.

But oh well… I hate Lancaster City government, so I don’t really care.

    3. It’s not just this paper but everything combined. A wife/woman abuser should not be a chief of police! Period!

Some reading for you that a friend found for me (Rosaura maybe you could respond to what would have happened to Keith – his career – his ability to carry a firearm – if he had not forced you to withdraw the PFA):

    4. Very good questions Becky. He was the main bread winner. Each time I was trying to advance in my career or in school, I had to either quit or drop out of school because he had study group to advance on the Police Department. My reason for dropping my order of protection I had no income, this is the truth,

Do any of you realize the power these men have. Do you any of you realize how many women like myself become afraid of what may happen to them. I went into hiding for ten years of my life. I wrote the book because, I was afraid, afraid no no would ever know the truth. So many women, children and men, afraid because their abuser is a Law Enforcement Officer. I will stand strong. I am no longer in hiding. I realize the risk but….Just like those young man who were sexual abused by SANDUSKY OR THE CHILDREN WHO WERE ABUSED BY THE PRIEST. The truth must come out.

    5. As I see it, there is no proof that he is a wife/women abuser. You have a petition for a PFA but the case was never heard in court, so for legal purposes, he never did it. Sure you have the statements from the wife but what is to say that Sadler could not make statements that he was abused. Please do not tell me that women are always honest when they file for a PFA. That has been proven incorrect time and time again. I would never sit here and say this never happened but to have a knee jerk reaction and demand he be fired is over the line but par for the course with this blog. Sorry, it is just the way our legal system works. If you don’t like it, try Syria, I hear things are really fair there.

    6. Oh, Hello Anonymous. I am going to pray for you. I truly do not care what you think about why I did not go through the protection order or why I dropped it. I know truth and your approval does not matter. God bless. I was born in this country. My parents came from Puerto Rico in 1949.

    7. @Anonymous – and a case in point would be DaddyJustice.com. Ben had a vindictive wife who had him locked up over false accusations. But I’m not sure the cases are the same, but we’ll see.

Becky, those articles you linked to aren’t related to the abuse from sadler. Do you have any court dockets?

    8. FWIW – don’t start me on DaddyJustice – what that man did to his ex-wife is inexcuable and Ben does have a temper.

Ms. Torres-Sadler wrote a book, FWIW! I will have more information tomorrow.

I thought you weren’t going to read here anymore, FWIW! Just kidding, of course. In my own way I like you very much and you have always been sensible and respectible so I will respond with same. But please, do not use Ben as an example!

    9. Yeah, yeah, yeah…. admittedly, Lip is like crack… one hit and your done. :)

    10. My bad, I didn’t know you and ben had bad blood.

    11. :P Ben’s an ass and a lying creep. Watch one of his videos once! Off the wall!

    12. Clara Bell Leonard

One makes a choice, one must deal with what they bring. That includes someone that alleges abuse and then takes back the PFA. A PFA is serious business. You did what you did for your reasons, why do you think you get to have a do-over in the court of public opinion? You chose to take the money, and it sounds like you wish you did not. but beating a drum so insight anger against this man is really not going to be the end of it will it? In years of maturing I am sure you have figured things you wish you woulda, coulda, shoulda mighta done, but you can’t rewrite it anymore than you can re-do it. Anyone that was not there which is probably all but one of us here should stay the hell out of it.

    13. Clara, I am tired and it’s been a long day but I will respond to this tomorrow. I’ll just add that any victim of domestic abuse, and there are a lot of us out there – a scary number of us that must change – and if this man has done nothing to work on his abuse issues, anger and physical issues – then again – HE HAS NO BUSINESS BEING CHIEF LET ALONE AN OFFICER. Do you understand he hit her with his fists?

    14. Clara Bell Leonard

Nothing that happens to him will ever be enough for this woman. It is not up to you to decide that he should lose his job over what you feel is an unforgiveable act, proven or not. No person is their mistakes, otherwise we should all jump out the window at the commission on the first sin. I am sick and tired of a few deciding what is unforgiveable and what makes someone not fit for a damn job. SICK n TIRED of it. so yes, yes I freaking understand. BTW did anyone ever reply to your emails?

    15. Oh, for heaven’s sake, Clara. If he had made a “mistake” as a 19-year-old and been charged and convicted of shop lifting a DVD, he could never be a cop let alone a chief! PLEASE can we be rational here?

    16. Clara, I am lost for words. Imagine living in fear for ten years, never knowing what might happen but….Then I decided to write my story. I am not a famous writer, I did not go to school to be come a writer. I wrote my story of survival, I wrote from my heart.

So many and I mean many have lived in fear just as I did. Domestic Violence, is a serious matter. I protected your chief, my ex husband; and his career, I am not bitter. My God, I am free. I will always be remembered the women that stood up for herself and who is standing up for all victims and survivors of Domestic Violence.

    17. FWIW must be a southern regional cop. they seem to swallow ben’s BS whole.

    18. Okay anon2 – this is the last time. You are using a proxy server. Don’t pull this cell phone crap with me. Use your real IP or it will not be posted.

    19. I know I’ve said before it was your last time but you are obviously local and you know about Ben so I had to post it. ;-) :P

I will NOT do it again, however. Rules are rules like the rule that wife abusers don’t become cops!

    20. Clara Bell Leonard

What was Sadler charged with? Rosa you are lost, you sold your soul for money and you said it yourself. Deal with it. I don’t blame you for any abuse that you suffered, but at some point you have to acknowledge all for what it was, and what it is now, which is the past. I see you are on a hustle to sell books and your story, they are yours to sell, as you are very well aware because you have sold things to get money before. Missing a soul?

    21. I cannot believe that some of these people have made the statments they have, WALK IN HER SHOES, LIVE LIKE SHE LIVED IN FEAR FOR HER LIFE I FIND IT SICKENING THAT THIS WORTHLESS BASTARD WAS ALLOWED TO ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING AFTER WHAT HE HAD DONE TO MS.TORRES WHEN SHE WAS MARRIED TO HIM SHES NOT SCORNED SHE SPEAKS THE TRUTH.HOW CAN HE STILL HAVE BEEN AN OFFICER AFTER WHAT HE DID TO HER DID U SEE THE PICS IF YOU HAVE NOT THAN YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT BECAUSE DOMESTIC VOLIENCE IS REAL AND WOMEN ARE MURDERED EVERYDAY BY OFFICERS OF THE LAW AND FOR HIM TO BE ALLOWED TO HAVE THIS TITLE OR ANY TITLE IS ABSURED I SAY RESIGN SADLER YOU ARE NOT A MAN YOU ARE A COWARD WHO BEATS WOMEN..

    22. And in the meantime, yet another murder in Lancaster on Sunday.

    23. I have a soul, I am free! Free to help others. Clara, do you really believe by attacking me it will change anything. Are you aware how many women, children and women are victims of OIVD, Officer Involved Domestic Violence.

I guess protecting my abuser was best. Maybe I should tell my sister’s and brother’s to shut and and keep the silence, the CODE OF SILENCE.

Should I tell them, it’s okay let him continue to beat you, you can’t win; he’s the POLICE!!

      NO I WILL NOT!!!

    24. huh? – You’re obviously talking about the man at 46 N. Prince Street? Have they even stated it was a murder? Do they still want people to call the police with info? Where does this stand?

And what about the Friday morning stabbing at Dorwart and Manor where the man was in critical condition? How is he and have they made an arrest? Where are the updates?

    25. Excuse me Becky, I am back. I must say I am not surprised by Clara’s comment, so many would rather attack the victim. This is why Domestic Violence continues to be a plague in our country and all over the world. Clara, I will not allow you or anyone to continue to blame, shame or guilt any victim or survivor. Money, what money. Your ridiculous. Every single word I share with my readers is the truth. I have nothing to hide. Instead of attaching me, what can you do to help the citizen of Lancaster, PA. What can you do to help the victims there.

      Let’s work to help them.

    26. Morning, Rosa! Good to see you!

    27. Sorry to go off topic, Rosa, but maybe it’s not off topic – because your ex-husband and former Philly Chief Inspector is not only a wife abuser but the police force he is now leading is failing to solve any crimes and leaving murderers and shooters and stabbers on the street over and over again. He has done a terrible job since he’s been in Lancaster. His record is awful!

    28. Clara Bell Leonard

I’ll tell you I have walked in a similar pair of shoes. I am no victim I am a survior and I choose to move ahead. Let go & let God. If you want to help you sure have a an evil way of showing it. Becky if you have a gripe about the chief as it pertains to his record with crime solving, can respect that, but not coupling it up with someone’s old story that she obviously needs therapy for to get over. She talks like it just happened which means she is not healed and tearing down Sadler is not going to bring peace of mind, but it will bring a few pieces of coin from the sympathetic and the ones that take the time to learn a story inside and out so will buy the book.

    29. Clara Bell Leonard

Has Keith Sadler been charged with a crime?

    30. No believe me Becky, I understand. When you look to your local police department, you look for help. You look for protection. When I lived in Lancaster back in 2002, I thought and still do a beautiful little town. Philadelphia has horrible crime each day, many here find hard to believe Lancaster is plague with such horrible crimes.

      God bless!

Rosa lost me when whe said she signed the document releasing the PFA. You don’t get a do-over this late in the game. Maybe your message should be that if you are a victim, be ready to go with out money, move to a shelter, as many do because they are just that serious about getting out and away from the abuser they don’t want a penny from them unless it is for the children they helped bring into the world. You can’t tell them to tough it out because you did not, you saw $$$ signs and that is what you chose. I am not saying you chose wrong, I’m just saying you made the choice. I have had no lights, no food and 4 kids to care for and a no good man. Not only did I put the PFA against him I stayed on his ass until he got put away for a long ass time. Was it easy hell no, would I do it differently, yes! I would have gotten out sooner. You survivied and you have a survivor story. Do you want to tear down Sadler or the system? The more valiant fight is the system, that is ultimately who failed you. You had your time to take Sadler down, if we believe you then the system fixed it that he suffered little, he is the lower man on the totem pole. There’s the judge, the DA, IA and the lisst goes on. Who’s going to take them on?

    32. #1. i have read rosaura torres’ book. it is all truthful.
#2. i have personally interviewed rosaura many times for my radio program. she has NEVER deviated from the book information. her story has never changed one iota.
#3. we all know about police protecting their own. no matter how rosaura has fought for justice, it has been denied to her.
#4. do people understand, rosaura cannot change the fact that the first thing she must deal with EVERY DAY is her diminished eye sight?
#5. we seek accountability. we seek justice.
and we will forever ! rosaura is sharing her truth. she stands strong. she is a survivor. she will never be quiet !

    33. I am a OIDV Survivor from NJ. I am a friend, sister and supporter of Author Rosura Torres. As survivors of abuse, torture and rape, it a shame that society still have the mentally to accuse the victim of the violence and not the abuser. My life came to a horrible time on 8/2010, I was almost murdered by my officer husband, the laws the situtation into a circus. My soul and spirit were down, and i meet Rosura Torres who gave me love, understanding and hope. Most of all the support that no one else gave me , hope and courage to continue to fight for justice. The people that trash Rosura are hopless and idiots. she is voice and hope for all in OIDV Community. Her story is the experience we all experience in our abusive marriages. /society needs to understand our abuse, and torture was not pretty picture, we have nightmares daily. We live with severe physical damage, severe PSTD, anxiety, panic attacks and emotional scares for life. Chief of police Keith salder is abusive and a lunatic hiding the ast. he is responsible for alot of harm to Rosura Torres his ex wife. But you know Karma will collect itself soon. ****To Ms. Clara who comments were stupid and offensive, Please you give our name a bad taste. Thank god im a normal and good person, with same name as you…..Your a souless woman. God bless all my OIDV Survivors and MY Sister Rosura Torres.

    34. Clara, just a quick note – I took down the link to your blogspot – something is wrong with it and it is not pulling up correctly.

    35. Clara Bell, may I ask you something? When you read and watched the trial on Sandusky, how did you feel? Did you blame the children.

For 14 years the truth was covered up. These young men will live with their memories of the abuse. I have faith in God, not in the justice system. I am here to help others. It does not matter what any DA,Judge, Prosecutor and so on…..Many of our courts have protected the abuser instead of the victim. I am a warrior and until I go home with my parents, I will continue to help others and speak out.
