MARV ADAMS & LNP…
Posted on April 30th, 2012 3 commentsUNHEARD OF LOWS!

If Marv Adams were in the House or Senate, he’d be brought up before the Ethics Committee and kicked out. It is shocking and disgraceful what this man is doing in the name of journalism.
First, Marv used his position as editor of the Sunday News to relentlessly push for his bosses’ convention center/hotel project built with the public’s money.
He called those opposed “naysayers” for years. He repeatedly put us down and treated us with scorn and sneers.
He had a countdown of the commissioners’ days in office every week in his column because they opposed his bosses’ project.
He viciously and personally attacked commissioner Molly Henderson because she was opposed to his bosses’ project. He said Molly Henderson wasn’t very good at math.
He repeatedly told us his bosses’ project couldn’t fail and even had the unmitigated gall to compare its failure to “a huge volcano erupting in Pequea Township.”
Marv Adams totally abandoned his ethical and moral responsibility to inform the public and tell the truth to keep his job.
Now, just several years later, the convention center has failed and is a financial disaster. And Marv is pretending to be the public’s hero by obtaining information from his bosses’ competitors to give to his boss.
That’s right: It’s the most blatant, sickening conflict of interest I have ever seen and he and the Lancaster Newspaperss are taking journalism to unheard of new lows.
This will be continued tomorrow.

A HORSE’S ASS!
Posted on April 30th, 2012 10 commentsFew ‘nay’-sayers on this day

Well, isn’t that cute! Today’s paper has a big picture of horses frolicking in a meadow and the above headline (click here).
Whenever I hear the word, “naysayer,” I think of Sunday News editor “Marvelous” Marv Adams! And he really, really made me mad yesterday with his Right-To-Know requests regarding the disaster known as the convention center/hotel. That will be coming later today.
And speaking of Right-To-Know requests, the Lancaster County District Attorney and the Coroner don’t seem to think the public has a right to know if an autopsy was performed following a sudden, violent and suspicious death. The last time I checked, we pay these fools to protect and serve us! There will also be more on this coming later today.
And finally, I have more Right-To-Know requests into the county for the gender and racial breakdown of two more county departments in the Lancaster County Courthouse. Will we find the elusive black male?
Wow! It’s going to be a busy Monday! Hey, Marv, when are you going to apologize to all those people you called “naysayers?” When, Marv? I’m waiting…
Please check back later today. -
GOOD JUDGMENT AND DISCRETION?
Posted on April 29th, 2012 11 comments“KILL THE POLICE”
The Lancaster Newspapers won’t hire minorities but Sunday News editor, Marv Adams, hired this freak!
You think that’s cruel? That is a fish hook coming out of her lip and hold on – there’s a lot more coming (click here for her article, “How I look, and why”).
If you recall, last week, LNP President and CEO, Harold E. Miller, Jr. was quoted in an article titled, “LNP president issues apology for phone number in advertisement,” (click here). Now, I’m going to come back to this bogus and absurd “apology” many, many times over the next few weeks, but let’s remember Miller says this:
“Our readers have come to depend upon our good judgment and discretion in determining the taste, tone and nature of the advertising to be admitted into their homes. We will continue to monitor and review all of our content with these qualities in mind.”
With the internet, that is just nonsense but let’s play along with Miller! Curious about their employee with the fish hook in her lip, stretched earlobes and tattoos, I googled Kate Frese and found her Facebook business page. That’s correct, this is not her personal Facebook page but the one for Kate Frese Photography.
Kate likes to photograph “punk” bands and posts things like this (with my substitution of asterisks):
Ah f*ck it. new jam, Expendable, posted on our stereokiller page. Go jam that sh*t right now because we’re pulling it in way less time than we allowed the last song to stay up. We’ll be playing this one on Saturday as well.
And:
Hey, bands! It’s finally not cold outside! Let’s shoot some promos or album work before it gets hot as balls!
Hey, Mr. Miller, that’s nice taste, tone and nature! But it gets better. One of the bands she “likes” on her Facebook page is “Copkiller.” You read that correctly. So I clicked on their profile photo and went to their disgusting, sick Facebbok page and then I found five of their songs you can listen to for free! These are the titles:
Kill The Police
Privileged White F*ck
Eat Dirt
Suck My Faggot D*ck
Full of Sh*t
If you don’t believe me, you can click here – and this page, except for the song titles, is viewable without seeing revolting graphics and photos.
Nice job, Miller and Marv! She’s a treasure! You could walk out on King Street and drag in the first person you find and they’d be better than this freak!
I actually can’t believe a band is titled Copkiller and one of their songs is “Kill The Police.” If a black man stood outside the Lancaster Newspaper offices and said that to a policeman, he’d be in jail. Maybe a white person, too!
I may be out of touch with today’s youth, but this is disgusting and she is an employee of the newspaper that talks about “good judgment” and “discretion.” Is that a joke?
There will be more on this in the days ahead. -
* UPDATED – RACE AGAINST RACISM!
Posted on April 28th, 2012 1 comment* I am in shock. The Lancaster Newspapers certainly aren’t a sponsor of the Race Against Racism (click the link below the logo and page down to see the list of sponsors). It is also not on their calendar of events – click here. It’s as if the race doesn’t exist! Unbelievable!
The story on the coroner will come on Monday. Tomorrow, I have a little surprise for LNP President and CEO “good judgment and discretion” Harold E. Miller, Jr. and Sunday News editor, Marvelous “volcano in Pequea” Marv Adams! Be sure to check in!

FAILURE TO PERFORM THEIR DUTIES!
Posted on April 27th, 2012 No commentsDENYING OUR RIGHTS!
My Right-To-Know requests to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office asking whether autopsies had been performed on the two women found hanging from trees in Lancaster County within a week have been denied. That’s correct. They were both denied in detailed two page letters when all I was requesting was a “yes” or “no.”
I will, of course, appeal. The denial letters have already been forwarded to the Associated Press and will also be sent to major news outlets in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Philadelphia and the ACLU of Pennsylvania.
I will publish the letters here tomorrow. Once again, my question was simply asking if autopsies had been performed since the coroner refused to answer such a fundamental and exceedingly important question.
This information is so basic to our human rights and freedoms in this country that I am literally in disbelief. The Coroner and the District Attorney are the people we pay to protect and serve us!
Please click here for the Pennsylvania Law regarding coroner’s investigations and please check back tomorrow. -
HUNG-UP ON BEING HUNG
Posted on April 26th, 2012 3 commentsSELF-FULLFILLING PROPHECY?
If you caught the TV program Criminal Minds last night, you know it was about five boys who allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from trees. Of course, it turns out it wasn’t suicide and they were killed prior to being hung. How did they know this? Autopsies!
Were autopsies performed on the two women found hanging from trees in Lancaster County within a week of each other at the end of March and the beginning of April of this year?
Was an autopsy performed on Louise J. Ward of Elizabethtown?
Was an autopsy performed on Isabel Bortree of Lancaster?
I don’t think it’s possible for stories to get more deeply disturbing than this.

UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT!
Posted on April 26th, 2012 22 commentsDOGS, BULLETS & ART?

Is it acceptable for a city employee to tell a citizen “You’re a f*cker?” Click here for the video on YouTube where this woman clearly says it – twice. I spoke to the man who made the video, Montaque McFadden, last evening by phone and I’ll be contacting City Hall today to see what is being done about her unacceptable and unprofessional conduct. Mr. McFadden is owed an apology and I‘ll report back on what City Hall has to say.
Last night I had a very scary reminder of the two women found hanging from trees in Lancaster County within one week. Both were declared suicides within a matter of hours. Does the public have a right to know if autopsies were performed? You’re damn right we do! There will be more on this later today.
This email in last night. Thank you for writing. I know very little about the trash hauling situation in Lancaster but will keep this on a back burner to investigate and if anyone has any comments, please send them in.
I am writing this letter because I have read your site for a couple years and never had much say until now. I saw an article on LancasterOnline about how Mayor Gray says the private hauler trash trucks are unsafe but doesn’t mention his York Waste trucks in which I have seen them blow trash and drip trash water on the roads.
He wants to knock the rest of the small haulers out of business, in which, until 2006, provided black owned trash companies with income since I see by your report the city doesn’t provide that many blacks with a job. This mayor has a real dislike for the trash haulers in the City of Lancaster. Could it be that he was fined before because he left trash in his yard on N. Prince St. and threw a big stink over it and I know this from a retired city employee. Could it be that he hired that Mike Devany guy who was a recycling coordinator who harassed the trash haulers, by the way, and articles were written by Lancaster Newspapers and then poof he disappeared.
Why you ask – because another city employee told me that he was married had an affair, knocked her up and then disappeared even though the city and newspaper were shoving this guy down our throats. I know the 2 last black haulers left in the city of Lancaster: Shells Disposal and Wesely’s Hauling. I know they have been harassed by the City of Lancaster. I know the Wesely’s are hardworking good people who just want to be able to make a living.
I do not use my real name because I would get fired for speaking my mind. Why doesn’t Mayor Gray concentrate on crime and keeping our citizens safe instead of scheming to get the rest of the trash contracts from the haulers. I think he is greedy and shady wants the money for art or something which isn’t going to protect the citizens of Lancaster from bullets is it?

LIVING IN THE PAST
Posted on April 25th, 2012 No commentsTHE NUMBERS FALL
FAR SHORT!
The main photo on the Lancaster City Police Department Facebook Page (click here).
In response to a Right-To-Know request to the City of Lancaster for the gender and racial breakdown of the Lancaster City Police Department, the following figures were received from Patrick Hopkins, the city Business Administrator:
LANCASTER CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
Total Employees – 208
Gender/Male – 154
Gender/Female – 54Race/White – 163
Race/Black – 14
Race/Hispanic – 31His figures did not break down the race by gender and there is no indication of their position within the police department, so I will request that further breakdown. This is a city position, and while you don’t have to live within the city limits (click here for the employment requirements), the make-up of the police department should reflect the city’s diversity because it is within the city limits and strictly for the city that the jobs are being performed.
According to the 2010 Census (click here), the figures should look far more like this:Race/White – 92
Race/Black – 32
Race/Hispanic – 78
Race/Asian – 6And, of course, there is the whole gender issue.
I will contact the city to find out how they are trying to diversify this exceedingly important workforce and have it far better reflect the community they serve.
I will also be checking other city department’s statistics. -
150 CASES A YEAR!

NO MINORITIES IN THE COURTHOUSE
Members of the Lancaster County Commission are seeking to eliminate the Lancaster County Human Relations Commission (HRC), the agency that enforces the county’s anti-discrimination ordinance. They say it’s a cost cutting move.
Tell the Lancaster County Commissioners not to put a price tag on protecting the civil rights of its residents. The Lancaster County HRC plays a vital role in ensuring that local residents have a place to turn to when they’ve experienced discrimination. In addition to dealing with complaints, they provide trainings and workshops around the county on a range of issues, including landlord/tenant rights and responsibilities.Last year alone, the Lancaster County Human Relations Commission handled over 150 cases. Without a local agency, Lancaster County residents would have to rely on the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, which has already experienced significant staff cutbacks and budget reductions over the last two years.Take action now to save the Lancaster Human Relations Commission!Send an email to the Lancaster County Commissioners or call their office at 717-299-8300.***********************************************************************************************They didn’t save the HRC. END RACISM AT LNP NOW! – 2
Posted on April 24th, 2012 2 commentsGOOD JUDGEMENT?
This ad from LNP was sent to me years ago by someone who said, “There’s a black man in the Lancaster Newspapers!” as, of course, a sad joke. Because the Lancaster Newspapers don’t want you if you’re black or Hispanic. Period. No need to apply.
“Our readers have come to depend upon our good judgment and discretion in determining the taste, tone and nature of the advertising to be admitted into their homes. We will continue to monitor and review all of our content with these qualities in mind.”
Harold E. Miller, Jr. the president and CEO of Lancaster Newspapers, in a very strange story that ran in Sunday and Monday’s papers, “LNP president issues apology for phone number in advertisement, (click here).
What Harold Miller is really saying is they want to and do control everything that comes through your door. They set the tone in taste, tone and nature in this county and they don’t like minorities and they don’t want you to either. That is their “good judgment.” And that is the power of the press.
”From April 25, 2010, “END RACISM AT LNP NOW!” (click here):
A CALL TO ACTION
But I wonder how damaging Lancaster Newspapers’ (LNP) tolerance of the racism is, and why this Steinman business continues to allow these posts. Kids read these forums. Tourists too. And people considering moving to Lancaster read them as well–this is harmful to our community and to the psyche of many, many of our residents.….What I don’t understand is how the Steinmans’ Lancaster Newspapers allow this bigotry to continue to flow through this community discussion board. It poisons the atmosphere in Lancaster. It shows to outsiders reading the posts a certain ugly side of the area, which I don’t believe is as pervasive as it would seem given the frequency of bigoted posts.
I plan to meet with the Editors about this, and then the Steinmans. And if that produces no results, then I’ll work on gathering friends around the community to develop a plan for dealing with it. Maybe LNP thinks that the controversial, bigoted posts creates more views and thus more ad revenue for them. I really don’t know. I hope not.
From Charlie Crystle’s blogspot (click here).
To answer a few of your questions: it is extremely damaging and no, it does not increase the views and thus ad revenue. It lowers it. If you were black or Hispanic, would you read their forum?I respect Charlie so much for his Letter to the Editor (see “THANK YOU, CHARLIE!” below). I don’t personally know Charlie. We shared one brief phone call over the camera issue and exchanged several emails several months ago. And I can’t believe it took a School District of Lancaster Board Member to shock people into some sense. Every other Board Member, the Mayor, the D.A., the Police Chief, community organizations, churches, and the Y’s should join him and echo his outrage.
Charlie and I would probably disagree on the answer to his one question: Why does LNP allow this? I say they do it on purpose. Look at their hiring. They have blatantly discriminated for years. They have only put minorities and their pictures in the paper when they are charged with a crime. Their news is slanted and like their newsrooms, racist. It has gone on for years.
It is well past the time that they should have been called on the carpet, fined, publicly exposed and forced – yes, they have to be forced – to abide by the law of the land and human decency. This is a newspaper! It is simply unbelievable.

MINORITIES NEED NOT APPLY
Posted on April 22nd, 2012 14 commentsJUSTICE FOR ALL?
NOT A SINGLE BLACK MALE
ONE BLACK FEMALEIT IS THE MISSION OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE TO SERVE AND PROTECT THE CITIZENS OF LANCASTER COUNTY.
From the District Attorney’s website.

DA Craig Stedman
In response to a Right-To-Request for the District Attorney’s Office regarding race and gender the following figures were received this past Friday:
DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE
Total Employees – 74
Ethnic Group/Gender
White Female – 35
Black Female – 1
Hispanic Female – 4
Non Specific Female – 3
White Male – 30
Hispanic Male – 1 Combine this with the other three offices already accounted for (click here) and there are a total of 242 Courthouse employees, of which there is not a single black male, there are two black females and 14 Hispanics. This is unconscionable.
And the two Republican Lancaster County Commissioners, Chairman Scott Martin and Dennis Stuckey, did away with the Human Relations Commission in 2010 knowing full well there was blatant and unbelievable discrimination in the county’s own hiring.

THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE!
Posted on April 22nd, 2012 No commentsDISCRIMINATION!
I wonder…do these statistics reflect hiring practice philosophy, or could it be that ‘minorities’ have no interest in government positions? Are they sufficiently prepared? Do they have representative resumes?

POLICE – OUT OF CONTROL
Posted on April 21st, 2012 1 commentI’LL CALL THE ACLU!
Eddie T. Richardson, 34, of 24 Chester St., posted on Facebook information about his drug case and the identity of a police informant, according to the Lancaster County Drug Task Force.
He also posted tape recordings of drug deals, investigators said.
People in turn responded to Richardson’s postings, including a posting that said, “out all snitches,” according to the task force.
Richardson was charged with violating Pennsylvania’s wiretap laws, a felony, and retaliation against a witness, a misdemeanor, the task force said.
…Richardson was arraigned and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $75,000 cash bail, according to the task force.
From today’s article, “Facebook chatter lands man in prison,” (click here).
These are the most ridiculous, made-up charges I have ever read! I’ll call the ACLU on his behalf! His Facebook wall is open – you can read it for yourself and listen to the one police transmitter tape he posted twice from May 3, 2007. He didn’t wiretap anyone – somehow he got the police transmitter recording from 2007 that apparently put him in jail. Listen to it – it’s 15:51 minutes and most of it is silence.
He does not threaten the informant. What’s on his Facebook page is the same thing as his telling friends in person who was responsible for busting him and sending him to jail. It’s called free speech!
The bail amount is absurd. I will be contacting the ACLU for their response to these outrageous charges.
What I did find on his Facebook page was this video that’s also on Youtube and getting a lot of attention. Please note there is profanity – from a Lancaster City Police Officer.
There will be more on all of this at a later date. -

“IT’S SUSPICIOUS!” (PHOTOS)
Posted on April 20th, 2012 No commentsA HIGHLY VISIBLE DEATH
Was an autopsy performed on Louise J. Ward, found March 28,2012 hanging from a tree in Elizabethtown? A yes or no is all I’m looking for.Was an autopsy performed on Isabel Bortree, found April 4, 2012 hanging from a tree behind Burle Industrial Park? A yes or no is all I’m looking for.
These two Right-To-Know requests were hand delivered to the fifth floor of the Lancaster County Courthouse yesterday at 12:30 pm following a visit to the coroner’s office. They were handed to the woman at the front desk in the District Attorney’s Office and marked to the attention of Susan Moyer, the Open Records Officer for the District Attorney’s Office and she also handles any requests regarding the coroner‘s office.
The photos of the location and tree where Isabel Bortree’s body was found are immediately below. Photos by Jodi Wolff. The story and notes on the photographs continue below the photos.

Jodi Wolff and I went to the Coroner’s Office Thursday about 11:30 am to ask if autopsies had been performed on Louise Ward and Isabel Bortree. Coroner Diamantoni’s assistant, Sue, said she gave my note to the coroner. She apologized for his not returning my call and said their office has been extremely busy. She once again stated that the coroner was the only person who could release any information.
As we left the sixth floor of the old Armstrong Building to go to the District Attorney’s Office, an employee came out of the Lancaster County Mental Health Office directly across from the coroner’s office and rode down in the elevator with us. As we left, I asked her what she thought about the two women committing suicide by hanging from trees within a week.
“It’s suspicious,” she immediately said. She noted that it is highly unusual for women to commit suicide in this manner and wondered if they shared any mutual acquaintances.
This has been the reaction of almost everyone in Lancaster. And the fact that I cannot get a simple yes or no as to whether an autopsy was performed on either woman is shocking and leading to the conclusion that autopsies were not performed. If that is the case, it would violate the coroner’s required duties and an investigation would need to be initiated immediately.
There will be much more over the weekend on this including the Lancaster Newspaper’s failure to cover this story and reporter Cindy Stauffer’s huge deception regarding these deaths.
******
Some explanation and notes regarding the photographs of the scene. Jodi and I were directed to the spot by the guard in the guardhouse at the Burle Industrial Park. She seemed fully cognizant of where it occurred and gave us careful and explicit instructions. As you drive down their private road towards Pleasure Road, she said, on the left there is a wife fence, followed by a wood fence and then an electrical box. She said it happened where the electrical box is located right before the T-intersection at Pleasure Road.
We found the spot exactly as she described it just three or four feet from the road. There was only one tree it could have been and it has two limbs very recently sawed-off and the undergrowth around it is still trampled from the investigation.
After Jodi took the photos, we made a left on Pleasure Road for about a tenth of a mile and then a right onto Deer Ford Drive. We drove back along the private, tree-lined drive with condos until we finally reached 86 Deer Ford Drive where Isabel Bortree was living. The total mileage was a little over a mile and two tenths.
This morning I stated she allegedly walked to the tree and later realized that has not been verified and it’s possible she drove. There were no news reports of a car, however, and if she had parked at the scene it would have blocked traffic and immediately drawn attention.
But Ms. Bortree allegedly did choose a very visible spot to die. Anyone leaving the Burle Industrial Park would almost have to have seen her as soon as daylight broke.
Please check back tomorrow. -

IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE!
Posted on April 19th, 2012 1 commentOVER 30 YEARS!
There are two daily and one Sunday paper in Lancaster. They all have editorial staffs of between 20 and 25 employees. There is not a single minority on those staffs.
I wrote this over 30 years ago for the Philadelphia Tribune and it was one of the first things to go up on the original LIP News site (click here).
I am currently having this conversation with “William H” under “RACISM EVERYWHERE” below on this site:
—- Do non-white journalists apply at LNP and aren’t getting hired, or don’t they apply? Trust me, this is in no way shape or form support for the Lancaster Pennysaver. It’s just that the accusation of racism is the new “boy who cried wolf”.
—- Bullcrap, William H! Of course they applied! What world do you live in?
—- and you know this because………………?
I really don’t believe this. No one can be this naïve – or stupid! Thirty years! It’s right smack in front of your face, William H!

THE RIGHT TO KNOW!
Posted on April 18th, 2012 1 commentSUDDEN, ACCIDENTAL
VIOLENT OR SUSPICIOUS!
The Coroner’s Office investigates the cause and manner of any death which is sudden, accidental, violent, or of a suspicious nature.
From the Lancaster County Website – County Coroner Page (click here).
I placed a call to the Coroner’s Office yesterday afternoon at 2:30 pm. I identified myself and asked the woman who answered the phone if autopsies had been performed on Louise J. Ward and Isabel Bortree, the two women recently found hanging from trees within a week of each other in Lancaster County.
She said she would have to double check – she said she didn’t know if they had been done and she would have to find out and call me back. She then put me on hold for over a minute and came back and said she would pass my question on to Coroner Diamantoni. She said, “He’s the only one who gives out information.”
I realize the coroner has been busy today as there was an alleged murder-suicide discovered in Lititz this morning, and even though he doesn’t do the actual autopsies, they are being done in this case according to WGAL and the Lancaster Newspapers and I am sure the coroner is truly busy.
I will give him until tomorrow to return my call with a simple yes or no. If I haven’t received that call back by tomorrow, I will immediately put in a Right-To-Know request.
2012 AND BLATANT RACISM!
And I certainly have not forgotten the information received from my three Right-To-Know requests regarding the gender and racial makeup of three offices in the Lancaster County Courthouse published here yesterday afternoon.
I also have similar Right-To-Know requests into the District Attorney’s Office for their staff breakdown and the City of Lancaster for a similar breakdown of the City Police Department. I will also be requesting the information for other offices in the City and County. There will be much more on all of this in the days to come.
REEKING OF HATRED!
There’s also a lot more going on and I will get to it in the course of the next few days. On the TalkPa.net forum today, a poster threatened to alert the FBI to the hatred and flat-out threats going on. Good for her!
CAN Y0U GOOGLE?
That incredibly annoying ad on the lower left of the homepage on Lancaster Online for the “Rep Shield” – if you click on it you will see it is a division of Steinman Enterprises – the owners of the Lancaster Newspapers (click here). I hope to have someone more computer savvy than I review this – but my initial reaction is it’s a bunch of crap. I wonder how much they want to charge you or your business for googling your name everyday!
YOU’RE INVALUABLE!
Finally, I want to thank commenters to this site. It was through a comment and subsequent emails that I learned about Louise Ward’s abuse and trial. Through another comment and a follow-up email, I learned from a person in the know that they do not believe an autopsy was performed on Isabel Bortree. Thank you both so much and thank you to everyone who comments here! -

I worked in Lancaster County Government for two years. After seeing these salaries I am really upset and outraged just because I know the names and what they do or don’t do. If you’re a county tax payer (which I am) really evaluate your local government!
This comment in under Lancaster Online’s new commenting system under “DA tops county’s pay list” (click here).
Yes, those are some nice salaries! Who’s making them and what are they doing to earn them?
And speaking of forums and comments, what will happen to LNP’s Trashback forum with this new system? Is it dead?
And a note to those posting on TalkPa.net: Someone who claims to be Jewish does not obtain material and quotes from Klan sites. Period.
And this morning’s front page of the paper goes to the cats – literally! Please! Could we have some real news on the front page and put the articles about feral cats somewhere else?

LOUISE J. WARD
Posted on April 16th, 2012 No commentsDOMESIC VIOLENCE VICTIM
POLICE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT
DEFENDANT NAME: DANIEL CRAE FITZPATRICK
AFFIDAVIT OF PROBABLE CAUSE
1. On August 02, 2010 at approximately 2053 hours the Elizabethtown Police were dispatched to 36 North Spruce Street for a report of a Domestic Dispute in Progress.
2. Upon arrival on scene I spoke with the Complainant, Louise J. Ward who advised that she and her boyfriend, Daniel C. Fitzpatrick, had just been involved in a physical altercation.
3. I noticed that Ward’s left eye was bruised and noticeably swollen, she had blood on her shirt and a large amount of blood on the back of her head.
4. I asked Ward how she received her injuries at which time she pointed to Fitzpatrick and advised that he hit her numerous times in her face and head.
5. Due to her injuries Ward was transported to the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center by Northwest EMS for evaluation.
6. On April 17, 2009 Fitzpatrick plead guilty to the offense of Harassment (M3) before District Justice Jayne Duncan. The victim of this offense was the victim in this case, Louise J. Ward.
Signed and Notarized by Matthew T. Shuey of the Elizabethtown Police on August 20, 2010.
Yes, it was Louise Ward who was the plaintiff in Fitzpatrick’s trial on September 12 and 13 of 2011. He was found guilty of simple assault and incarcerated until February of this year – a little over a month before she allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree close to her home.
As noted in this Affidavit, she was also the plaintiff in a prior harassment charge against Fitzpatrick.

Posted on April 16th, 2012 1 commentREFLECTING THE COMMUNITY?
[Scott] Martin was the highest-paid county commissioner last year, at $92,173 — 15th on the list. Fellow Commissioners Dennis Stuckey and Craig Lehman were tied at 17th; both were paid $91,173 in 2011. Martin makes more than the other two commissioners because he chairs the board.
The chief clerk in the commissioners’ office, Andrea McCue, actually made more than any of them; she was paid $101,208, according to the information released by the county.

Are there any minorities on the “County‘s 50 highest paid employees“ list included with the article?

GOOD PEOPLE AND BAD KIDS?
Posted on April 15th, 2012 No commentsLEGITIMATE PEOPLE?
“We’re basically trying to keep the good people happy and send the bad kids home,” Berkheiser said. “They’re ruining the good times that legitimate people are having out here trying to enjoy First Friday.”
Lancaster Police Sgt. Philip Berkheiser quoted in the September 2, 2011 article, “Police break up brouhaha in center of Lancaster,” (click here).
There are articles and forum responses that stick in your memory. The police comments and their actions are striking and disturbing.
This was posted under the article on the Lancaster Online Trashback forum in response to a comment that was finally removed referring to the kids as “black and rican scum,” (click here).1. I was down there last night. The place was swarming with cops. Across from the Brunswick, there was an ambulance and at least three or four cars. Two on horseback. My girlfriend and I saw the commotion, so we decided to head back toward the square.
2. That’s when the fight broke out. It started out as two teenage girls. Then their friends jumped in. I think there were three or four separate fights going on at the same time. There were probably about 50 people gathered around watching, cell phones out, that sort of thing. It was just a bunch of teenagers who didn’t know how to control themselves. Turning it into yet another racist rant is ridiculous. It was just kids being stupid. That’s not to say things couldn’t have turned very badly very quickly. So no. It wasn’t some sort of “drug turf riot.” It was “this was the first week of school and that girl called me a bitch, so I’m gonna beat her @55.”

NEED APPLY!Hopkins, a Lancaster native, recalls the days when blacks could only get work as shoe shiners, floor sweepers or elevator operators in the city.
A quote by Leroy Hopkins, a German professor at Millersville University, in a Lancaster New Era story on August 29, 2008 by Cindy Stauffer, “Obama candidacy a big step forward, local leaders say.”
In 2008, it’s still whites only at the Lancaster Newspapers.

Today, I would have to add the county to that as well. And it was the County Commissioners who disbanded the Lancaster County Human Relations Commission in December of 2010. Unbelievable!
Due to research and a very sluggish computer, I’m going to link to this archive, “RACISM AT LNP!” and come back tomorrow.
