Back in the day, I would have been all over the Herman Cain business.
I would have chuckled at the revelation that the National Restaurant Association settled complaints of sexual harassment against him when he was its president and CEO, reminded Republican readers that Bill Clinton’s predations were deemed evidence of his low character, and wondered, a la every other pundit in America, how Cain could continue in the face of this setback.
But you know what? I really don’t care that much.
Did Cain do something wrong? Who knows? And in the general scheme of things, really, who does care? What would it prove, exactly? That he’s not of the highest moral fiber? He’s fallible. Find me a human who isn’t.

This is too much – even for me! Smart now goes into the “full-blown idiot and worse” category on this website!
Yes, I know someone was arrested and charged in the shooting several weeks ago of a 7-year-old girl playing in front of her house. Am I impressed with the police work? Hell, no! Now now. Leave Shill alone. Herman Cain is Black, and Gutsy would risk being labeled “racist” had he the ‘nads to take part in the Cain Muntiny.

Back in the day, I would have been all over the Herman Cain business. But Herman Cain is black. And some of my best friends are black, and anyone who criticizes a black is racist. So, I’m not, because he is.
I would have been outraged at the revelation that the National Restaurant Association settled complaints of sexual harassment against him when he was its president and CEO, reminded Republican readers that Bill Clinton’s predations were deemed evidence of his low character, and wondered, a la every other pundit in America, how Cain could continue in the face of this setback. But. I work for a newspaper that has no minorities on the elite management team or editorial staff, plus, I like writing long run on sentences.
But you know what? I’m a p*ssy. I really can’t afford to care that much. I have a mortgage and car payments.
