OUR HARD WORKING DA’S OFFICE!
Posted on November 29th, 2010 1 commentAN HONORABLE MAN!
Stedman credited First Assistant District Attorney Christopher Larsen for reviewing the case and the law.
From the Sunday News article, “DA withdraws citation in poll-pushing incident,” (click here).
Well, well, well. Apparently the First Assistant DA had to pour over the meaning of harassment. What law school did he go to? How long has he been in the District Attorney’s office? What an ADA we have working for us! This should have taken him all of about 10 minutes tops: “Hey, Craig, we don’t have a case here! He never should have been charged in the first place!”
Several weeks ago when I first saw the headline that a local attorney was charged with harassment at a polling place, I honestly didn’t read the article. The next day when I saw the number of posts about it on a number of forums I was simply astonished to read the name of Sam Mecum. Almost 99 percent of all the posts under related stories backed Mecum and spoke of the upstanding character he has always displayed.
I can back that up. My interaction with Mecum goes back many, many years ago to the paper edition of LIP and an investigative series I did on an “undercover drug informant” – Daniel Krushinski. And I actually ran into him outside of the courthouse on November 15th of this month and I asked him about the case. He was gracious and said he believed it would be resolved shortly.
As noted in the article, the woman’s name has never appeared in print. Why not? She called the police. She made the report. The Lancaster Newspapers could easily find her name. It’s because of them her name has never been “published.” Is this acceptable journalism in your opinion?
One response to “OUR HARD WORKING DA’S OFFICE!”

I am pretty sure that pencil neck Larsen went to a third tier (at best) law school. Weidner. So don’t be too hard on him. It probably took him a long time to just figure out how to research the charge.
